About this audiobook

All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of Heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will Heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

For decades, Burke has been studying accounts of survivors brought back from near death who lived to tell of both heavenly and hellish experiences. While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors--including doctors, college professors, bank presidents, people of all ages and cultures, and even blind people--point to the exhilarating picture of Heaven promised in the Bible.

This thrilling journey into the afterlife will make you feel like you've been there. It will forever change the way you view the life to come and the way you live your life today. You'll discover Heaven is even more amazing than you've ever imagined.

A very interesting read about experiences people of all ages, races, and nationalities have had where so many elements are in common. Hard not to believe and I think this book would be a great comfort to those with limited time and those who have lost a loved one.

The claim that Near Death Experiences give us a glimpse of heaven is not only addressed in a what-if way in this book. That’s not Burke’s purpose. He just wants to point out in a sober manner that what many experience in an NDE is paralleled by afterlife descriptions in the Bible. It’s not a proof of the unknown, but an encouragement to face the inevitable with hope and peace.

John Burke performed an outstanding analysis of a host of NDE accounts, correlating Bible scripture principles, to identify the vision of how God wants man to approach fruitful living today, as well as integrating the good plan He has for our future in His heavenly kingdom.

If you have questions about what Heaven will be like, this book will give you insight. It was fascinating to see what different people had to say about what Heaven was like when they gave their accounts after near death experiences. I know the Bible gives us insight, but sometimes seeing what others thing is interesting as well. Most of the people interviewed has positive things to say even if they did not always correlate with the Bible. Some could be due to their interpretation of what they saw, or having to put it into words of what they could relate to. I received a copy of this book to review from the publisher.

It's a great look into what Heaven is like. It helped everyone in the group get their eyes off the here and now and start living with an eternal perspective. Helped us recognize what's important and what really isn't. I continue to hear regularly guys referring back to this book, even months after we read it. The book will certainly stick with you and will help you prioritize your life by having a better understanding of our eternal life to come.ACF: Todd Nagel, not currently in ACF's library.

John Burke has done us a very good service of compiling a lot of information from individuals who have experienced Near-Death Experiences (NDE's). In this book he has studied the common elements (many) and some of the unusual or different experiences people have had. Reading this book will certainly help you look at the afterlife in a different way than you did before reading it. Good job.J. When my husband came very close to dying in 2009 during and after open-heart surgery, our youngest daughter started reading books about people's near death experiences. I had already had an interest in the subject through the writing of Kubler-Ross. Since then we have read at least two dozen NDE accounts, but this one is my favorite. It is a compilation of thousands of NDE reports, with remarks on how they are similar, identical, and different, and how they compare to what scripture says. It's a large work by John Burke, and certainly encouraging reading! We liked the book so much that we have sent copies to all my husband's brothers and to my sister. I recommend this book very highly.
