About this audiobook

Many of us experience signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalance every day. Do you have trouble dragging yourself out of bed in the morning? Ever have an uncontrollable sugar craving at three p.m.? Chronic headaches? Lack of energy? Do you get stressed just sitting in your office? Our bodies are wired to send us signals when something isn't right, but often we're too busy to hear them. Compounding the problem is a lack of understanding about the consequences if these symptoms are left unaddressed. Without hormonal balances, we are more likely to succumb to many diseases and illnesses.

The Hormone Diet lays out a foolproof plan to balance your life, one hormone at a time. But it is more than just a diet book. Along with advice for weight loss, Dr. Natasha Turner provides recommendations for anti-inflammatory detox, nutritional supplements, exercise, sleep, stress management, toxin-free skin care, and natural hormone replacement combined with a diet plan-all incorporated into a three-step wellness program focused on the essentials of hormone balance for lasting health.

Originally published in 2009.A book recommended by friend Andrea Simcoe. I have read this book twice now and have it all highlighted and marked up. I actually got off coffee for two weeks...first time in my life. When I'm starting to feel bad and unhealthy, this is the go to book to get back on track with my health and feeling good again. The recipes in this book are easy and actually pretty good. You will learn so much about how all the different hormones work together in your body. The author even provides a basic exercise program to kick-start you getting off the couch and moving. This is a keeper!

Skip this gem if you have no problems with stress, getting enough sleep, or putting on extra pounds or if you don't want any suggestions on how to fix these issues. The title really doesn't convey all of the good information in the interior although there are helpful charts to help you determine what might be out of whack with your system, no matter if you are old or young, male or female. There are recipes, exercises, meditation how-tos, skin care and environmental information that health fanatics like myself find too interesting to pass up. I finished the book in a day but will be trying the recipes and the tips before it goes back to the library. Some of the wording is a little cutesy and folksy but can be forgiven due to the load of great information inside the two covers. I will definitely consider adding it to my personal collection.
