About this audiobook

When bounty hunter Liam Quinn discovered that Claire Connolly was a Sensitive and infected with magic, he should have turned her in to be locked up in the prison district known as Devil's Isle. Instead, he helped her learn to control her power and introduced her to an underground group of Paranormals and humans who know the truth about the war and those who fought it.

Now the weight of Liam's own secrets has forced him into hiding. When a government agent is killed and Claire discovers that Liam is the prime suspect, she races to find him before the government can. But she'll discover proving his innocence is no simple matter. Their enemies are drawing closer, and time is running out . . .

I have read all the books in this series and loved them. They are hard to put down. It helps to read them in order so you have a better idea of who each character is. They are all available on Smashwords.com for all eReaders, Barnes and noble for Nook, Amazon for Kindle.

Byron Caige has been a prisoner for the last fifty years of his supernaturally long life. Just when he gives up hope of ever knowing the taste of freedom again, he is unwittingly rescued by the very same woman who only wants to see him dead. Katherine Dare - Kat - is smart, fast, strong and beautiful - but unfortunately she's a Hunter, and she's convinced that Byron murdered her father twenty years ago.

    She's also Byron's dormant.

As supernatural war breaks out amongst the otherworldly of Earth and threatens the existence of entire races, Kat is faced with a terrible decision. Should she give up her cause and believe Caige when he professes his innocence? Or should she fight him and possibly avenge her father's taken life - even while she forfeits her own?

I'm Thinking There's a Book 5 of the BBW Series*****SOFT SPOILER ALERT***** Heather Killough Walden writes another good paranormal romance with "The Hunt". This is Book 4 in her Big Bad Wolf series, and you definitely need to read the first 3 books in order to understand the world & characters the author has created. It's not a stand-alone book IMO. Most of the main characters from the previous books play a supporting role here and provide a protective family for our new couple, Byron and Kat. Byron is the brother of Book 3's Lucas Caige. He's been held in captivity for 50 years by Isobel, the Vampire Princess. He's had a rough time of it, even though he's a very high Alpha Were. Kat is a modern woman looking to avenge her father's death. She's a Hunter with a large number of kills under her belt, and she's a Dormant. I like that she's independent, but in some passages, I felt she might have struggled more with her acceptance of the Weres, given her previous Hunter indoctrination. However, I assumed her lustful attraction to Byron was beyond her control due to the Alpha/Dormant Bond. The storyline involves removing a 4000 year-old curse and saving the Weres from almost-certain extinction. This appealed to me and cleared up the Weres' gender roles as outlined in the previous BBW Books. In "The Hunt" and the first 3 Books of the series, the story of the Alphas and the discovery of and pursuit of their Mates is quite predictable and derivative. That's true for nearly all the longer series in this genre, (think BDB and Midnight Breed, to mention but two). It's one reason why I like to sample various PR authors so I don't become bored with any one series. And I'm always curious as to what type of "world" each author builds. I did find the ending of "The Hunt" just a bit confusing, and perhaps HKW wrote it purposefully so. I think there's another book or two in the BBW Series yet and will stay tuned for the next instalment.
