About this audiobook

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the team is a hot mess-underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won't let anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not a veteran player with an attitude problem and a smoldering gaze designed to melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy "Jinx" DuPre is on the downside of a career that's seen him win big sponsorship's, fans' hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he's been labeled as the unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?

He'd have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed . . .

Contains mature themes.

"This control thing is all well and good, Harper, but one day you're going to have to recognize that you can't make every call yourself. People want to help you. People want to love you."This was so so so good. I went into this expecting a cute little hockey romance with a little bit of plot, but mostly spice, and we'd all live happily ever after. The End. BUT WHAT I GOT was a really well written story with complicated characters and relationships and - okay there was some spice in there too.I laughed. I cried. I clutched my pearls. I need to keep reading this series.P.S. I'd let Remy DuPre make me a sandwich any day.

Hmmm, let me be crisp on this review. There was really nothing to do about this book. It was well-written, the characters were all just enough, the book was just enough, I didn't get Remy for about 30% but once I did he was sweet, and the book could've easily wrapped at 63%. Seriously, at 63% we know that Remy wants to retire after the season, settle down and be a stay at home dad. Harper has ambitions and wants to continue to build the Chicago rebel hockey team. Maybe to prove she can, maybe cause she's in love with it. She needs a man to support that or no man at all. I feel like I needed to smack both their foreheads at this point and say "time to discuss the future you idiots." It's a case of a slightly over mediocre book, which I read at a slightly bad time. (See: whole post on book grouchy)

I have to be honest, I had some stuff going on today, was quite busy and when I sat down to read I had no earthly clue what CR I was reading initially. I actually thought I might be between books. It was about a second before the book opened I remembered. I just think that's probably not the best sign...

Oh, but maybe I'll review it. It was a boss-employee relationship but the woman is the boss, and the man is the pursuer, generally. Nothing about this tickled my fancy including the sweaty locker room scene with, in all likelihood, pads still on. Light references to puck bunnies.

I have a crush on the actual interesting character, Bren, in this book. I also find her sisters interesting.

Irresistible is a wonderfully passionate romance in the Chicago Rebels Series. Not only was this book passionate and hot, it also had the ability to woo the reader right along with the main character Harper Chase.

Remy DuPre is an amazing man. He is the man girls dream of that will take them away to a fantasy land of love. You know the type of guy, says all the perfect things, physically perfect, makes you laugh and builds you up, um, and cooks amazing. The only thing is that Harper is not the normal girl. Let's just say daddy issues, and forcing herself to be completely closed off to any other people. Even her half sisters and she have zero connection.n It's all part of her be the boss, am the boss, take no prisoners attitude she has.

The characters were written in a way that you can believe their progression. From Harper to being sort of cold behind her shield of stregnth, to then evolving to not only loving a man but developing what looks to be a true lasting relationship with her half sisters. Honestly, the sisters were the strongest part of the book to me. Seeing their like passive aggressive interactions slowly improve was something you hoped for while reading. It was something that Harper needed, well, ALL the sisters needed after how their father completely ruined their relationship.

I love this book! I also completely intend on getting the rest of the books in the series as they are released. If I am not mistaken, I believe it's going to follow the sisters and I really enjoyed them. I received a free ARC copy of this book from the publisher to review and I would say this was sweet and hot, and a must read.

OMG, this book!I loved Kate Meader's Hot in Chicago series and really liked her prequel novella for this one ( In Skates Trouble ) and was looking forward to seeing what Remy and Harper's story would bring, but the story itself? Blew my expectations right out of the water!I absolutely loved both Harper and Remy. Ms. Meader did a great job of showing their POVs and giving very realistic reasons why they shouldn't be together, all while proving that staying apart shouldn't even be an option. When it looks like they really won't be able to have a life together, when Harper takes Remy's words and says they're not enough? I swear, I stopped breathing, it was so hard to read. Even knowing there HAD to be an HEA in the end didn't make it any less devastating to get through...how would she ever manage to make things okay again?Of course she did, and did so brilliantly, I'm happy to report. And now we have middle sister Isobel's book to look forward to next...can't wait!Rating: 4 1/2 stars / AI voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Kate Meader’s IRRESISTIBLE YOU is an excellent start to the Chicago Rebels series. I have been anxiously awaiting reading this book ever since I read IN SKATES TROUBLE (Chicago Rebels #.5) in the HOT ON ICE hockey anthology. I was not disappointed. I loved this book. Three half-sisters are left a hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels. The team is in second to last place. The sisters need to turn the Rebels around. The first book focuses on the oldest daughter, Harper Chase. She has been groomed to take over the team and is disappointed when her father’s will stipulated that all three sisters are left the team and have a year to make the playoffs or lose the franchise. I love the plot. It was interesting and full of obstacles. I already liked Harper’s character in the prequel, IN SKATES TROUBLE. I was excited to hear her story. She is a strong character that is meant to run the Rebels. She is an excellent leader and knows her hockey. She brings in veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre to motivate the team. Understandably, DuPre was not happy to be traded to a team that was in second to last place. The two butt heads but can’t deny that they are attracted to each other. Of course, Harper being Remy’s boss complicates matters. They have great chemistry and are an interesting couple.I enjoy Kate Meader’s writing style. The story flowed well. I was not able to put down the book. There were some good life lessons in the story. I loved the scene where Remy and Harper played video games against each other. IRRESISTIBLE YOU had a great ending. I look forward to reading middle sister, Isobel Chase’s story in the next book, SO OVER YOU. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via Netgalley.Harper and her half-sisters have inherited a hockey team, the Chicago Rebels, from their father. Harper's newest recruit is player Remy duPre, and he is furious because this is the last year he plans to play hockey and he wants to win the Stanley Cup with his old team. Instead he is forced to join Harper's Rebels, the second worst team in the NHL.There is A LOT of hockey in this book although, thankfully, no play by play action. If I hadn't been reviewing it, I'm not sure I'd have got past the beginning, where Remy is disrespectful, petulant and downright unpleasant. Fortunately he undergoes something of a personality change after having blackmailed Harper to get his own way and turns into a complete charmer, who won't even sit if a woman is standing.I enjoyed the scenes with Remy's delightful family and the scenes where Harper interacts with her sisters and Remy with his teammates were well done. Generally the book picked up after the first 20%. The ending was perhaps a little "open" - what is going to happen at the end of the season? Is Harper going to give Remy the babies he seems to crave? Harper's sisters, who are by no means quite as estranged/unco-operative as the blurb suggests, are clearly going to get books of their own.
