    All of the Cozy Cat Caper Mystery books can be enjoyed as standalones but will be better appreciated as part of the series. The books are light, fun cozy mysteries featuring an animal-loving female amateur sleuth, lovable and not-so-lovable quirky characters, and a page-turning mystery that needs solving.       The story was alright but the narrator was not. The narrator sounded bored to death and only wanted to get to the end. Very little inflection and no passion. The plot was a little thin but as the first in a new series that may improve. I just hope for the next in the series they get a different narrator , or she manages to inject a little more life. A shame as she has a pleasant voice and the narrator can make or break a so-so book.
