About this audiobook
The Jenny was drifting across the shoulder of a big volcano. Beyond it there were no more mountains, just an endless blue-white plain stretching to the horizon. They were at the mercy of the wind, and it was carrying them helplessly into the Ice Wastes.
After two years of carefree traveling in the Jenny Haniver, Tom and Hester find themselves back in danger. Fleeing from the grim aviators of the Green Storm, they stumble onto the ice city of Anchorage just in time. But Anchorage is not a safe refuge: devastated by plague, and haunted by thieves — or perhaps ghosts — the city is barely lurching along. The savage Huntsmen of Arkangel are closing in, and the young margravine must make a last desperate bid for survival. She sets a course for the Dead Continent: America...
In this breathtaking sequel to the award-winning Mortal Engines, Philip Reeve plunges us into a ruthless and terrifyingly believable world where cities eat each other, betrayal is as common as the blasted land the cities traverse, and loyalty holds the only chance of survival.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I like this series but there’s also a lot of, well, dumb choices by the author. Also things that just don’t make any sense. I don’t want to give the story away. ...but there’s defiantly timeline issues with the choices at the end for the reveal for Hester...
Voice acting was great and kept me engaged though. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5simply stunning
so well written, so entertaining.
a wonderful follow up to Mortal Engines
I can't wait to listen to infernal devices
the hits just keep on coming - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5great follow up to Mortal Engine. Enjoyed the relationship of Hester and Tom. Pennyroyal's character is very interesting.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Started off slow like a teenage love drama, but picked up half way through and ended very strong!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved the book and love this series! Great listen/ read!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved the narration! Loved the story, quite thrilling. Excited for book 3!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An enjoyable follow up to mortal engines. While the story lacks some of the excitement over the traction cities, the story is enjoyable as the lead characters explores multiple cultures finding new friends and enemies.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazingly written. So many twists and turns a real page turner. Enjoyed this book a lot.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I read the first book and it felt unfinished, I wanted more. I wanted growth, love, and hope. Instead I got... Well.. This.
Far too many times I found myself actually yelling at the author, "You IDIOT!" The world-building is about the only redeeming quality of this book. The characters are basically too stupid to live, and yet still bumble through scrape after scrape, despite having the wherewithal of poultry.
... And what's with the obsession over "stalkers?" I hated these Terminator-knock-offs from the first book and was glad to see what I'd thought was the end of them.
I can't say not to read this book. Just don't come looking for any kind of resolution .
