About this audiobook
Marlow's just a regular geeky college freshman with little to no experience with girls, so when he has a semi-flirtatious chat with a cute girl online, it's almost more than his nerves can handle.
Then the girl is brutally murdered.
Or is she?
Marlow finds himself teamed up with intelligent and savvy Sage Farrell, a girl so far out of his league he feels blinded in her presence. Together they work to find the identity of @gingerbreadman. Can they stop the killer before he strikes IRL?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was on the edge of my seat listening to this book!!!!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is told by the four main characters; Teagon, Sage, Marlow and the murderer.Teagon and Sage are friends from childhood who are now sharing a dorm room at college. Teagon is an Art major and on the nerdy side. Sage is more outgoing and social. Marlow is a science major and is rooming with his friend Zed Zabinski. The two aren't great looking, or have much experience with girls or social situations...they are geeks!Teagon and Marlow meet in an online chat room and strike up a friendship. It is sort of a safe way to make friends and they find they share quite a bit in common likes. During a storm there is a lightening strike that causes Teagon to get zapped. Nothing serious, but a little tingley. They decide to meet and set a date. When they show up at where each thought they were going to meet and find that the other didn't show, they each they have been stood up. Also messages seem to be odd and the information off.During this time, there have been rapes on campus, which in time become murders. One of the characters become a victim...or do they? This is a combination murder mystery and sci-fi tale. Not really my cup of tea. There is a bit of time travel involved. I enjoyed the characters but following the plot took a little more concentration. Also I don't read a lot on my Kindle and this was a Kindle book for me, so it took a little longer to read.If you like sci-fi with your mystery this would be for you.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I am not a big Science Fiction fan and when I purchased this book, I thought it was a mytery/thriller, but with a twist. It actually is a mystery/thriller with a science fiction bent. I enjoyed it but it did get a little strange at one point.
Marlow and Teagen meet in a college chat room and become friends. They chat most nights as they are both socially inept and do not go out much. When there is a girl raped on campus, Marlow seems to know about it before it happens. Teagen begins to think that maybe he is the rapist and stops communicating with him. Eventually they end up back in the chat rooms again. When Teagen is raped and murdered, Marlow begins to think something strange is happening as he contacts her on the chat board and she responds. The next thing you know, he is between realities and quickly becomes involved in a missing persons situation. Marlow has to team up with Teagen’s roommate Sage to solve the mystery and clear his name. I really liked the characters of Marlow and Sage. They are both smart, loyal, and do not give up when others seem to. They figure out what has happened to Teagen, thanks to Marlow jumping to a third reality where he is given a clue, and jump into a dangerous situation. I would love to have friends like them. This story is full of mystery and intrigue and The Gingerbread Man will keep you on the edge of your seat. This story will appeal to a wide variety or readers such as mystery buffs, sci-fi lovers, as well as anyone interested in reading a well-rounded and captivating story. The end of this story leads right into the next book in this series, so I recommend getting it ahead of time, so you can get started right away. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Gingerbread Man by Lee Strauss is an exciting who-done-it and a sci-fi novel in one. It is a great story of jumping parallel universes and working to find a missing friend while meeting new friends. Lots of interesting interactions, sci-fi geek stuff that I enjoy, a touch of romance (nothing too mushy- I don't do mushy), lots of action, a serial killer, and a great plot. I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was just a mystery and I am more a sci-fi gal. I happy to see the geek stuff! The sci-fi was done well and very interesting also. Great job. I was given this book for a honest review and it in no way effected my rating or my review content.
