- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fast paced mystery set in Paris in 1938 telling the story of two sisters Romy and Florence who were defined by an event which took place in 1930. The action moved on quickly, hardly letting you take a breath. The two sisters were well defined, strong characters but both very different and the characters around them brought to life. The story covered themes of love, betrayal, divided loyalties and danger. This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and I will definitely be reading more.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Thank you to the author and narrator for the three thoroughly wonderful days it took me to listen to this audiobook. There are characters to love,
ones to hate and ones I wanted to know better. I haven’t checked yet, but there’s gotta be a sequel out there (pretty please!)
If you rely on reviews like me, trust this one. This story is terrific and worth your time!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The writing is beautiful. The descriptive language is lovely. The narrator is flawless and her ability to read for each character is astounding. I will be looking for another audio book with the same pairing of author and narrator.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book provided a riveting story written, very well narrated very well and kept you on your toes until the very end. The end in was quite a surprise not like so many books where you can predict the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic, gripping tale of 2 sisters and of the one that binds them.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/53.5 stars. A bit slow to start, but picks up pace as it goes on. The story is somewhat chaotic but mostly enjoyable. Characters are well developed. Excellent narration.
There are a few too many rushed plot points, many of which don’t get fully resolved. The story is also a little heavy on the romance - though much more sex than romance… it might’ve worked in a different setting but it just felt like a delay in story telling.
Romi’s fixation on being a terrible person bent on self destruction for the out of the blue murder of her father gets a bit grating… the plausibility of the beginning of the book and it’s core theme doesn’t quite add up. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Really could not get why the main character would think she had killled her father but she was knocked unconscious. Smart and analytical but never even questioned it? Then the melodrama in the reading, the displaced cockney accent of French characters. The sister chooses to die just to hasted her husbands death. I just couldn’t find the sense in this story line.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Enjoyed this and had a good ending. Love the aviation stuff in there too
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Outstanding! Kept me on edge! Full of Surprising tension. A must read!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book started off a bit slow for me but got better and better as it went and I ended up loving it! So glad I kept going.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great story of a French female flyer just before the start of WW2. Excellent narration. Some sections were a little like a romance novel, but didn’t distract from the narrative.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow. This was GOOD. The reader is also excellent. This is more gritty than the typical WW2 novel written by women. Highly recommend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well written action paced excitement. Plot twists up until the very end. Rich characters set against historical turmoil. A must read!
