About this audiobook
Gregarious Rose Lehman, who's always the life of the Amish youth singings, is determined to marry the bishop's son, Reuben Byler--until the handsome Army buddy of her future brother-in-law shows up in Lancaster County. In comparison to Trevor, Reuben seems downright boring. Trevor shares Rose's sense of fun and adventure, and her easygoing disposition. When her sister Lila's buggy is rear-ended and Lila is horribly injured, Rose finds herself with more freedom than she's ever experienced. Everyone is so concerned about Lila that no one realizes Rose is sneaking out with Trevor. Except for Reuben. But in his usual passive way, he doesn't confront her, nor does he address the situation with her Dat or anyone else in the district. Rose appreciates Reuben's discretion, but she also resents it. Part of her relishes the freedom she's found with Trevor, but the other part of her wishes Reuben would "fight" for her, as much as any Amish man would. Too late, she realizes the foolish choice she's made. Has she ruined her best chance at love, or is there another path to happiness she just hasn't seen yet?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book. Rose is such a great character. She thinks at first she wants to wed Reuben until her sister is injured and she must take care of her. Now she wants to spread her wings and have a rumspringa. She meets Trevor who is an Englisher and she wants to begin flirting to make Reuben jealous. How will this work out for Rose? I also really like Lila and Zane. Can they still marry even though Lila gets badly hurt in an accident. This book was very hard to put down because I had to see how each of these storylines developed. I received this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould is third in her Neighbors of Lancaster County series and continues the stories of the Lehman and Beck families. The author fills in plenty of the back stories so Amish Weddings can easily be read as a stand alone book. Lila and Zane's wedding is just a short time away and an accident happens that throws things off--way off. As readers watch how characters react to the ever changing and sometimes chaotic situation, we see growth and maturity in their lives. Mistakes might be made but with their strong faith in God and the Amish community, forgiveness and grace are extended. Dat Lehman is probably my favorite as he is shown to be more compassionate and merciful through all the life-changing events of his various children's lives. Zane, the Englischer neighbor who has chosen the Amish way of life thought life would be less complicated...he was in for a surprise! Would this accident change his and Lila's life forever? Simple wasn't always God's plan for these families. Faith and family are strong themes throughout Amish Weddings and it was fun to see how things all work out (or perhaps didn't) and just which couples did tie the knot. Another wonderful story from an award-winning author of a number of great books!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould is the third book in Neighbors of Lancaster County series. Lila and Zane announce that they are going to be married in one month in October 2015. Rose Lehman (18), Lila’s sister, has been dating Rueben Byler and was hoping they would wed first. But then Lila is in a terrible buggy accident and suffers a broken pelvis, ruptured spleen, and bruised organs. Lila will be recovering from her injuries for months. Lila and Zane’s wedding is postponed, and Rose is enlisted to help with Lila’s care (Lila did not wish to enter a rehab facility). Tim Lehman, Rose and Lila’s father, is preoccupied with Beth Yoder, the local schoolteacher. Beth’s husband left the Amish and divorced her. The Amish, though, marry for life (they are in a holding pattern). While Tim is inattentive and Lila recuperating, Rose has an opportunity for a little exploration. Rose never took her rumspringa when she was sixteen. Trevor Anderson, an Army friend of Zane’s, comes to town and flirts with Rose. Rose is disgruntled with Rueben’s high standards and starts sneaking out to spend time with Tyler. Will Rose remember the teachings of the Amish church? While Lila is recovering, she begins to think about her birth father, Butch Wilson. Lila believes that Tim does not care for her the same way he does Rose and Trudy (his natural children). Lila begins a search for Butch Wilson much to her Daniel’s, her twin brother, dismay. Shani Beck goes above and beyond for the family during this time. But Rueben does not like the Beck family spending so much time with the Lehman’s. He feels that the Beck’s are a bad influence. It is going to be a rough couple of months for the Lehman’s, Beck’s, and Byler’s. Come join them in Amish Weddings to see how it all turns out. I found Amish Weddings to be very well-written and an engaging novel. My attention was captured from the very beginning. While Amish Weddings is the third book in the series, you can read it alone (you will be confused at first though). I do, though, recommend reading the first two books in the Neighbors of Lancaster County series (they are very good). By reading the first two books, you will get to know the various characters (it will help you keep them all straight and see them grow up). Amish Weddings has a good pace, nice setting, and interesting characters. I give Amish Weddings 4.5 out of 5 stars. I knew that the one character was going down the wrong path (making very bad decisions), but I did like reading to see how the storyline would play out. The ending is expected, but I did find it pleasurable (it will make you smile). It was nice to see what happened to all the characters the readers have come to know and love through the series. There is quite a bit going on in Amish Weddings. I found it, though, easy to keep track of the characters and their storylines (I did not tell you about all the characters in the summary above). I am sad to see the series end, but I look forward to reading more books by Leslie Gould in the future.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the third and final book in this series, and from the first page to the last there is action of some kind going on in this family. We are brought up to date on the past two books, and I was happy to find out and get caught up on other family member’s lives. Now you might want to read the other two books, they are awesome and you may loose out, but this book can stand-alone.Poor Reuben, he thought he was in love with Lila, and now she is with Zane, and now he thinks he is in a relationship with Rose, but Rose is being fickle, but he can also be blamed on indecision.I loved the babies that are brought into this story, and of course, the family is growing, and we do find new ones. Then there is Beth and Tim, what can ever be with these two? You will be page turning to get to the end and find out all the answers. Now Trevor, I had him pegged, but maybe you will have a different perspective on him.Zane seems to want to be Amish, and he does love Lila, but can he give up the English desire for justice? Yes this one will keep you up late waiting for answers. I for one would love more, but this is the end of the series.I received this book through Net Galley, and the publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.
