- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: Ten Guns from Texas (A Duff MacCallister Western #6)Author: William W. Johnstone with J. A. JohnstonePages: 336Year: 2016Publisher: PinnacleMy rating: 5 out of 5 stars.Duff MacCallister is man who came to America from Scotland in order to avoid a lawless sheriff. Duff is a man hard-working, law-abiding and with a no-nonsense approach to life. Duff is also a man who lost the love of his life, and his heart is now drawn to a local seamstress named Meaghan. If you aren’t familiar with the series, the previous installments are: MacCallister-The Eagles Legacy, The Killing, Dry Gulch Ambush, Kill Crazy, and Kingdom Come. In this latest tale, Duff is heading from Wyoming to Texas to deliver an order for his Angus cattle. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, once again, there are opponents who will stop at nothing to take what isn’t theirs and try to make a profit. Enter the “Fence Busters” who are supposed to be doing a legitimate job but are really out for themselves. Cattle men have an agreement, but these ruthless outlaws are out to break these owners no matter the cost. There is much more than cattle rustling in the book. Kidnapping, a lawless town filled with all sorts of nefarious men, and more are included. What I have enjoyed about the books is reading the tale to discover where the title of the book is derived from, plus I love the western genre. I hope if you’re looking for action and adventure, good triumphing over evil and a touch of romance, look no further because the Johnstones have got it all!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
