About this audiobook

Praying for a happy ending, friends and family stood by Laci’s grieving husband Scott. Four months later, Laci’s decomposed body was found in the murky waters of San Francisco Bay. The body of her child had washed ashore about a mile away, after a possible “coffin birth.” It was a sad closure to an exhaustive search, and a grim end to a marriage that by all accounts had appeared to be perfect.

Scott Peterson’s behavior had cast a mysterious shadow over the death of his pregnant wife: his alibi on the day of the disappearance was questionable; he admitted to an affair with another woman; and when he was finally charged with capital murder, he had altered his appearance. Almost immediately, the media condemned Scott, even though he maintains his innocence. Is Scott Peterson a victim of circumstantial evidence? Despite the state attorney general’s claim of a “slam dunk,” the case that has gripped the nation is much more complex, and is yielding even more questions, doubts, accusations, and shocking revelations.

So sad a person could do this to someone they are supposed to love. Two somebodies.

I have followed the case over the years. Many of the reviews said that it was the same information, rehashed. Although some of the same information was in this book, there were nice things in the book that I had never read. I loved hearing the Father’s words at Lacie’s funeral Mass months after her body was found. What he spoke was beautiful!

The author wandered off on random subjects as filler that had hardly anything to do with the case. Got boring at times.

This is a good book if you what a revision of this case and a few new details; nothing revelatory, just interesting. However, if it’s the court drama and the case as it played out when presented in court then this book skips over that in one minimal chapter and finished prematurely: basically you could have gained all this same knowledge I’d you’d watched a documentary on the case. This is no deep dive. That said, my heart goes out to Laci’s parents, family and friends.

A thorough and detailed analysis of the Scott/Laci Peterson case. Worth a listen.

Does a surprisingly good job of staying objective, gives some good insight into details that were glossed over in other media (but completely ignores some.. hm). The Peterson family comes off so unlikeable in every single portrayal of this case but anyway
    Audiobook narration is great!

Could’ve been a bit more informative of the case but overall was a good listen into what happened

Lots of detail, no psychology or depth. Author's opinion established early with no attempt at understanding the humans involved. Disappointing.

Written without any new insight or behind the scenes discovery. I could have written the book based on everything the Modesto Bee published. Don’t waste your time

Very similar to an episode of Dateline. Lots of details, lots of backstory. Well told.
