Such a beautiful and emotional story. I have expected a simple love story, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Lena is looking forward to her senior year. She's doing well at school, she has great friends and she has a nice job. She's also in love with Sebastian, her best friend. She thinks after many years she might even dare to tell him how she feels. However, her positive flow comes to an end when something terrible happens. One moment changes the course of Lena's life forever. Could she have prevented it from happening and can she handle the guilt she now has to live with?

Lena's whole life has unravelled. She seemed to have a glorious future ahead of her and now the last thing she wants to think about is what she's going to do tomorrow, let alone next year. There's something she hasn't told anyone and this secret is tearing her apart. Will Lena be able to move on and find a way to deal with the consequences of what happened to her on one awful night? Will she be able to tell anyone the truth, so she can share her burden or will she keep struggling with it on her own?

If There's No Tomorrow is an impressive story about love, loss and consequences. Lena is a kindhearted girl. She loves books, she enjoys spending time with her friends, she likes good food and she has a huge crush on the boy next door. She's like a lot of other teenagers, but that changes in one fatal moment. My heart ached for everything she had to go through. Lena has a lot to deal with and she doesn't know what to do with the abundance of overwhelming emotions, they make her feel so bad that she feels she's stuck and therefore she's unable to talk to people. She used to be a cheerful girl, but now she has to discover who she is again and find a new equilibrium. That complex process was moving to witness and it made me tear up quite a few times.

Jennifer L. Armentrout has written an amazing thought-provoking story about a difficult, but very real topic. I loved her honest approach of the situation. She doesn't spare her main characters, she doesn't sugarcoat the situation and she gives her readers the opportunity to make up their own minds about the subject matter. I love the way she does this and the combination with a strong story makes If There's No Tomorrow a gorgeous gripping read. I loved this terrific book.

Another nice easy-listening YA romance from JLA, she almost never disappoints. Likeable characters and a story that sweeps you up from the get go. Perfect for summer walks, a light reading that pulls on the heartstrings.

This is going to be a bit spoileriffic because some of the issues I had need to be a bit spoileriffic.Well it's pretty obvious that there was an accident, the story opens with our heroiine in hospital, in pain. She's the only survivor of a car crash and she has to deal with her survivor guilt and the fact that she was sober in a car full of not-sober people. At no stage does someone sit her down and say that yes, you got into a car with people not completely sober, but that you asked if the driver was okay and while he stumbled, people stumble. You asked. They reassured, the guilt lies more with them than you. No future suggestion list was drawn up. No questions of what would have happened if she had opted out? There was a moment of her being reassured that she couldn't have overwhelmed the driver to take the keys off him but overall she accepts the burden of guilt and no-one really tries to relieve her of it and offer her strategies of what to do if it ever happened again. The parents in whose house the party was also don't seem to be doing anything about future issues other than angsting. A key confiscation program at underage parties (where the parents cleverly decided that drinking under their supervision instead of drinking behind their backs was a good idea, but a lockup for keys would have been a good idea. It's probably my age, but this presented the problem without presenting solutions and I had issues with that. Even us cynical adults need strategies on how to resist getting into cars with people who aren't completely sober. It's a messy topic and while it's not badly handled in this book, it could be better.

“I knew I couldn’t go back and start a new beginning. I couldn’t rewrite the middle. All I could do was change tomorrow, as long as I had one.”You all know my love for JLA by now, so I was very excited she had a new book out. This starts off by mentioning The Paper Princess series and Dance Moms (two things I also love). I loved how to incorporated popular movies and books into the story. It just made me relate to the story/characters even more. This started off a little slow, but then bam! Chills down my body and tears down my face out of nowhere! This deals with a very serious issue and one that continues to need awareness around it: drinking and driving. It also deals with love and loss, substance abuse, grief, survivors guilt, and so much more. It was an emotional ride, and I loved every minute of it. JLA has a way of pulling you in and allowing you to get lost in a story. I love that her books are usually unputdownable (yes, I am using that as a word). I really enjoyed this! Keep them coming JLA!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and didn't realize that it was a YA book until I read the blurb. My first thought was to put it down -- I don't read YA. Then I decided to try the first 50 pages - after all a lot of my adult friends read YA - just to see what it was like. After that I read anther 50 and then kept turning pages until I got to the end and I realized that I had been disliking a genre of books that I'd never even tried to read. I've decided that it's time to expand my horizons and try some different genres. Lena is ready to start her senior year in high school. She has several great girlfriends to hang around with and they tell each other everything. Lena isn't much of a party girl - she'd prefer to stay home on the weekend and read. She has a major crush on the boy next door and even though she has known Sebastian for almost her whole life, he still treats her like a kid sister so she keeps her crush a secret. One night at a party, Lena makes a life altering decision that will change her future and those of her friends in ways that can never be made right again. After that, Lena quits looking ahead to tomorrow...she doesn't want to go back to school or finish her college applications and she doesn't know if she can live with herself in the future. With the guilt growing each day, Lena knows that her only hope is to move on. But how can she move on when she and her friends’ entire existences have been redefined? How can she move on when tomorrow isn’t even guaranteed? This is a well told coming of age about a problem that happens every day when a bad decision is made but it's more that that -- it's about a mistake that anyone could make at any time in their lives - not just during their teen years - and a story of how to deal with the guilt after a bad decision.
