      One of my all time favorites. The fellowship of the title is a secret society headed by 'The Frog',a mysterious figure never seen directly by any of the other members. Frog rules by terror and by means of bombs and poison gas. His gang commit many robberies and other crimes. Opposing them is Richard Gordon,who is Assistant Director of Prosecutions and Sergeant Elk. Elk is a great character who appears in several other of the Wallace stories. Described as tall and thin with a miserable expression he is nevertheless a fine detective.The criminal is easy to spot but some of the other aspects of the story will still come as a surprise to the reader.Wallace at his best.
