About this audiobook

Brad is great at meeting other people’s expectations. But his own? Not so much. Take the gay thing. Okay, so yeah. It took a morning meeting with a frat brother’s hairy, naked ass for him to admit it, but he knows the truth about himself now. Let the gay life commence.

Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. He hasn’t quite determined how to come out to anyone, even Sebastian, the geeky-hot TA in his history class. Sebastian is everything Brad is not. Intellectual, suave, hairy. Out. And he doesn’t seem interested in Brad, even when Brad makes a fool of himself trying to catch his notice.

Score one for foolery: Sebastian does more than notice Brad; he takes him to bed. Brad’s been with plenty of girls, but with Sebastian, the sex is something else entirely—hot, mind-blowing, affirming, and a little domineering in a way that drives him wild. But when great sex turns into something more—dare he admit the “L” word?—Brad must face the crushing realization that Sebastian doesn’t feel the same. Unless, of course, he does. After all, even grad students can be idiots about matters of the heart.

Anne Tenino

Anne Tenino began writing for her own entertainment in third grade, but life intervened, and she didn't get around to submitting anything to a publisher until the week of her 40th birthday. While spending most of the last three years recovering from Lyme Disease, Anne started writing for herself again. The Lyme Disease had led to the demise of her "real" job, and the laptop was right there, next to the bed... In the long, rainy, Pacific Northwest winter, writing is sometimes a mood-saver.Anne's husband is adorably confused by her love of reading and writing about man lurve, but he's always been a supportive sort. Just don't ask him to read it. Her two school-aged daughters think it's cool Mom's a writer, but aren't clear on why they can't tell Gramma about it.When not writing, Anne likes to read, travel, cook, and shirk housework. You can see what Anne is up to by checking out her (sadly neglected) blog at http://annetenino.wordpress.com.Available Works"18% Gray", Dreamspinner Press"Happy Birthday to Me", Dreamspinner Press"Whitetail Rock", annetenino.wordpress.com

A simple story, but I really enjoyed it because it didn’t have a lot of unnecessary conflict and silly drama in it. Characters actually communicate with each other and there isn’t any out of control possessive jealousy that happens. It was a realistic but sweet story with great sex scenes :)

Everything single piece of gay fiction I have read on this site is sexual in nature and it irritates me to no end. This story had love and intimacy but it was clouded by how blatantly obvious it is that this straight female author has no idea how relationships work, gay or not. Because this wouldn’t happen in a piece of straight fiction. We’re not sex fiends, we love our partners. Genuine. Deep. Emotional love. Yet the love was just a prelude to more sex in this book and it makes it much worse than it would otherwise be.

I don't know that I enjoyed this one as much as other people have. Part of it, though, I'll admit is that I was kind of going through a phase where I'd read so many insta-love stories before this one that I'm sure seeing 'YET ANOTHER' impacted my overall views on this one. I also felt like the story dragged in a few parts and could have moved along a bit more quickly.

That said, I did find myself somewhat liking and connecting with most of the characters and think it would probably be of interest to m/m fans, especially those who like stories in a college setting or with a bit of a teacher-student vibe.

This book had it all. It was sexy, funny, sweet and so very, very believable. I love Brad and Sebastian. Their characters are just so engaging, you get drawn into their world. I'm not often laughing out loud when I'm reading a book, but this one had me laughing more than once! Add to this the hot sex scenes and you have a story that definitely is going to be on a reread list; especially when I need a 'pick-me-up'!

*Book source ~ NetGalleyBrad Feller is a jock at college on an athletic scholarship. Ever since high school he’s been fooling himself and everyone else. He’s lived up to everyone’s expectations of a ladies man and even though he always felt something was different or lacking he never really thought he was gay. Until one day he has an epiphany in the guys locker room shower. From there it’s only a matter of time before he pursues the hot guy that he’s been daydreaming about and eventually comes out of the closet. But it’s quite a journey from Point A to Point Gay.This is a bit different than I thought it would be. I was expecting a bit of a raunchy M/M college tale and got a sweet M/m romance instead. There’s nothing wrong with that. The story is well-written and the characters are very life-like, but even though it is told from Brad and Sebastian’s POV, it’s Brad that takes center stage. He’s just so freakin’ adorable! I love being in Brad’s head as he tries to figure things out. Like I said, adorable. If you want a sweet M/m romance then this is the one to read.

Cute m/m new adult romance. My first Anne Tenino book and it won't me my last. I like her light humorous writing style. Hate the title of the book but I'm glad I (finally) got over it and read it anyway. :-)

Entertaining and cute. Although I must say I am not fond of the endearment 'hon'. Just blergh.
Well worth a read, despite this.

The title of this book kept me away for quite awhile. For some reason I was getting shallow BDSM with college high jinks. But boy was I wrong! This was a surprisingly deep book about one man's journey into self-discovery.

    Well worth it!

This was just- adorable. There wasn't a ton of angst, just a guy realizing he was gay and falling in love. This book was funny and sexy, hot, with good side characters. This is the second book by this author I've read this week, along with her shorts, and she has now become an auto-read for me. It's so good to find another wonderful author!

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK! It's sweet, tender and laugh out loud funny! I probably never would have picked it up due to the WTF title (which makes PERFECT sense once you read the book) and if I hadn't I would have missed such a fun read. Pancakes? Hilarious. Coming out? Who would've thought THAT could be funny? Just a great, great book...a must read!

I really liked this book! I found Brad to be really endearing. His realization that he's gay and how he goes about coming to terms with it was extremely entertaining. I had to chuckle at a couple of the things that went through his head.

I liked how Brad went after Sebastian and I enjoyed watching how Sebastian sort of fell into his relationship with Brad. He hadn't planned for it, but it happened. It felt very real. I wish that I had got to know Sebastian a bit better and that he and Brad had spent a little bit more time outside the bedroom. (The sex scenes were HOT though!)

The side characters were really great in this book, especially Brad's roommates and Ashley. I also really liked Brad's family (even though they were only in a tiny bit of it) and Sebastian's sister.

I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for hot sex, light angst, and plenty of humor.

I look forward to reading Paul's book. I would also like to read about Collin.

Brilliant! This was funny - so funny! I laughed out loud more than once. But there were some real throat clearing, eye-burning moments as well. I loved the main characters, the writing was tight - not a word wasted - and it was beautifully paced. A definite favourite!

Frat Boy and Toppy by Anne TeninoSource: Netgalley3/5 starsNOTE: 18 and over onlyI am not ashamed to say that from time to time I like to take a little skinny dip in the old erotica pool. I suited up over the weekend and dove right in to Anne Tenino’s Frat Boy and Toppy only to come out of the pool feeling quite unsatisfied. I’m done with and over the swimming metaphor now . . . .What I liked:*Brad: the lead character who is a frat boy jock who has finally admitted to himself he is not only gay but completely smitten with his history T.A., Sebastian. Brad’s confusion and vulnerability are endearing and his reactions to certain situations are just funny. For example, when he comes out to his family . . . I laughed. Brad as a character is hard to dislike and I wouldn’t have minded at all knowing more about him.*Sebastian: the openly gay history T.A. who is disturbingly smitten with Brad. I like Sebastian’s confidence in who he is; he is a hot braniac who makes no apologies for who he is and how he lives his life. His confidence and swagger are only shaken when he figures out Brad may be more than a mere booty call.*The sex: Although I can’t say I am any expert by any means on gay sex I am fairly open minded and thought Brad and Sebastian did a fine (if somewhat messy) job of steaming up the pages. Once Brad acknowledges being gay and makes Sebastian aware of his interest there is just no stopping those two! I won’t lie; I might have learned a thing or two :)What I didn’t like:*The plot: There aren’t any glaring holes in the plot or crazy inconsistences but that is likely because there isn’t much of a plot to speak of. Yes, there is the whole Brad coming out to everyone and dealing with his new relationship highs and lows with Sebastian but these elements aren’t really dealt with until near the end of the novel. Quite frankly, it’s just a case of too little too late. *The sex: What??? How can this be both a like and a dislike you ask? Quite simply, you can indeed have far too much of a good thing. There is an incredible amount of sex in this book to the point of it bordering on way too much; the amount of naughty verses the amount of plot just don’t balance one another.Bottom line: I like the characters just fine but would have liked to have seen their story go a bit further; Sebastian and Brad are both nice guys that must have something more to them then just hot bodies. The sex is great but it does become a bit tired after so many scenes. (I can NOT believe I just said that, BTW) I have read enough erotica to know that you can have all the fantastic naughty bits and a strong plot and I truly wish that had happened with this book. If you are looking for an easy, naughty read then this is the book for you BUT, if you need more substance in your erotica I would have to recommend steering clear of this read.

3/3.5 stars.Brad Feller is a college student on a fraternity and athletic scholarship who, at the beginning of the book, realises there's no hiding from himself anymore - he's gay. Sebastian is a TA for one of Brad's history classes and after Brad buys a paper online to get his attention, they start a relationship. I found the second half of the book much more enjoyable than the first. I was really struggling to get through the first half, but persisted because Sarah at DA liked it so much. I didn't really get the humour in the first part of the book and I did not like the phrase "the nail in the coffin" which Brad's dad used when he was giving an example of why he thought Brad was gay - that seemed very negative to me. Some of the phrasing confused me and I had to read over it a few times to work out what was being said and that threw me out of the story at times. It's a fairly gentle story with not a lot of conflict - Brad's coming out is fairly easy from what I could see in the book and any struggle he may have had with being gay had been resolved before the book started. However, thes scenes when Brad came out to his friend Kyle and later, to the frat itself, were very funny and the sex was definitely hot. It's a short book - only 165 pages but it retailed at $6.99 which I thought was pretty pricey. Between that and the title, I don't think I would have picked it up at all if not for Sarah's recommendation. It was one of those rare books where her tastes and mine didn't quite mesh - go figure. Am I sorry? Well, no. But, I wish I'd managed to buy it on special somewhere.
