- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very sound retrospective. I think it’s important to note that there was a lot of scathing opinions and view points by the players in the book of each other and I think it’s important to keep in mind that most of these people horrifically abused drugs and alcohol which made psychotic personality traits come out. God only knows the damage they did to their brains. Regardless I loved reading about this snapshot in time of the music industry. The ending cracked me up because suddenly everyone was talented and deep thinking and music today can’t compare to any of them hah. I agree they were fantastic but they are just a piece of the incredible musical history of the last 100 years.
