Hari Kunzru is the direct heir of J G Ballard- a post-modern visionary who charts his own unique journey through language, metaphor and plot. White Tears is a crazed but entirely coherent masterpiece, at times laugh out loud funny and sometimes, even in the next paragraph, travelling twists and turns so bleak you wish you could stop, put it down and do something else. But you can’t. He’s that good. This is that good.

An absolutely tedious reading experience. Started out so promising too. What a waste
