1814 promises to be another eventful season, but not, This Author believes, for Anthony Bridgerton, London's most elusive bachelor, who has shown no indication that he plans to marry. And in all truth, why should he? When it comes to playing the consummate rake, nobody does it better... Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1814
Anthony Bridgerton needs a wife.
Having spent his twenties in a rakish pursuit of pleasure (whilst taking care to ensure the financial security of his mother and seven younger siblings and mother) he knows it's high time he settled down and ensured the continuation of the Bridgerton line.
Edwina Sheffield is considered the most beautiful debutante of the current season. She is also sweet, innocent and eminently biddable - Anthony is sure she'll make a perfectly acceptable wife and vows to make her his.
The only obstacle in his way is Edwina's older sister, Kate. Kate is determined to do all she can to allow her sister the chance to marry for love rather than convenience. And the roguish viscount is beginning to think he may have met his match in Kate's keen wit and sharp tongue. Until, that is, he makes the mistake of kissing her...

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Funny as with real life concerns and problems. It was the humour in this one that I enjoyed the most. Pal Mal sounds very interesting

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I don’t just read the Bridgerton series for the main love interests in each book. I stay invested because of the family and their whole relationships.
The series encompasses the meaning of family and I absolutely adore the bickering between siblings. I enjoyed reading Anthony and Kates story, especially as Anthony has the father role in the hierarchy of the Bridgerton household. He starts off thinking he can have the best of both worlds, tying down a wife to satisfy his mother while also having an array of mistresses to satisfy his own needs.
Kate knows all about Anthony and his ways, after all you can never tame a Rake and Anthony is not just any Rake but the Rake or all Rakes. Kate knows that Anthony has set his eyes on her younger sister and she can never let that arrangement happen.
As Kate tries to stop Anthony’s endeavours at every turn they both stumble across feelings they never thought they would have for each other.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5While Kate was a way better MC than Daphne... Anthony was a pill very hard to swallow lol. He had his moments, not gonna lie, but he threw around many life threats that I didn’t pay much attention due to my upbringing until I noticed he might actually be serious lol (taking into account he dueled in the last book and all). His attitude got tiring, specially by the second epilogue.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Fun an entertaining, by no means a work of art :)
It continues the story of the children of this family.
I enjoyed the gossip, the sarcasm and the witticisms.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this so much, the banter, the tension! Kanthony in book are on fire?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perfect to listening and improving my English great job t
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Esse audiolivro está bem estranho, pula algumas partes, troca alguns capítulos, não curti. A narração é boa.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Counting the fact that we know the cast of a second season, it is like watching it in my head. Very nice reading. And easy. Antony is just charming. + second epilogue included and you’ll hear spoilers about who will marry Colin even though everyone probably already guessed….
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked it. It was sweet, funny and not taking itself too seriously.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Even better than the first one ? so great as an audiobook
