About this audiobook

As a leading columnist for Stiletto, Grace Brighton has built a career warning women about rotten, cheating liars. She just never suspected her fiance would be one of them. After Grace takes a heart-mending hiatus, her first assignment is to go on a couple of dates with a counterpart from the men's magazine Oxford and report her impressions. Grace 1.0 may have been instantly smitten with the gorgeous correspondent, but Grace 2.0 has sworn off relationships for six months, and she's not falling for his outstanding bod and trophy-winning kisses . . . or is she?

Jake Malone wants to get back to the fly-by-night, who-knows-what's-next guy he used to be, and he knows exactly how to do it. Oxford is adding a travel section, and Jake-with no wife and no kids and a willingness to live anywhere, eat anything, do everything-is perfect for the job . . . except that his playboy reputation makes his new editor nervous. To get the gig, he must agree to a fluffy joint article with Stiletto. But after just one date with snooty, sumptuous, sensational Grace Brighton, Jake starts taking this assignment a whole lot more seriously.

Well, this is always interesting. I seriously loved this hero. The heroine was decent too, though nothing particularly stood out about her, thus the 3 instead of 4. The story was a pretty stupid set-up, but hey I liked that too. Fun, sexy, quick read.

I just finished reading an ARC of this and it was Fan-freaking-tastic!! Lauren Layne is a new to me author that I am beyond happy to have discovered. This book is funny, sexy and touching! The characters are great, the story flows at a great pace and there is just a touch of angst but only enough to keep you guessing. Laugh out loud funny read that everyone needs to have on their Must read list!

An entertaining story that seemed sophomoric at first but as the characters developed I liked their behavior and how the relationship evolved. Overall a pretty good book. Rival journalist Jake and Grace are asked to write articles about gender perspective while pretending to date.

Adorably cute and heart breaking at the same time. For some weird reason I thought this one was much, much better than the first and I really liked that one. I think that what pulled me in this book were the characters; I didn't have any idea about how much I was going to like Grace, but she turned out to be an amazingly strong minded woman who put her needs and wants first, but without forgetting how to have fun and, eventually, fall in love again. So now let's talk about all the deliciousness that is Jake. Loved him and how vulnerable he was at times while being incredibly alpha and sensitive. Loved this one!

This is turning out to be one of my favourite series of all time. I was so excited to see the next instalment in the Sex,Love and Stiletto series come out that I couldn't wait to dive right in. Lauren Layne has a terrific way of writing this sort of romantic story which I love so much. She writes strong, smart characters, funny, sweet, romantics, that have you entertained all the way through.

In this, the second book in the series, we follow Grace's story, who has just come back to work at Stiletto magazine after a bad breakup and has sworn off men for 6 months. So when her editor and the editor of the mens magazine Oxford, come up with this hair-brained idea of having their two most respected relationship experts go on a series of dates and turn it in to a competition to see who knows who better, this book is set up to be one heck of a funny ride. As with the first book, I immediately related to the characters and it was easy to slip right back in to their inner circle.

Grace is a classy, strong and independent woman, like her friends, and she endeared me to her with her attitudes and honesty. After finding out her boyfriend of nine years was cheating on her, she saw this series of articles she was writing with Jake, as the perfect tonic to her wounded soul, a way to prove that she still is a relationship expert. However, when she meets Jake she realises that sticking to her no-man-for-6-months plan may be a lot harder than she first thought. What I loved about Grace was her ability to see that life doesn't fit into a neat plan, that life throws your curveballs and there is not one solution, one answer for how to live your life. She realised that she can be a beautiful mix of the old and the new Grace and she grabbed it with both hands once she figured this out. She has a kind and generous heart, particularly when Emma comes on the scene. I loved how that all played out. Her friendships are important to her and she knows just how to be a true friend. I loved who she became when she was with Jake. She blossomed and was a joy to watch.

My first impression of Jake is a ladies man, but we get to see the real Jake by reading his point of view, and I just love seeing both points of view. It adds so much to the story and just engages me more fully in their emotional journey. Anyway, back to Jake. Well isn't he just the most swoon-worthy, sexy man in New York. A man that really knows how to make a woman feel like a woman and who has a compassionate heart underneath, a perfect combination. He thinks that this little competition his editor has suggested is going to be torture and all he wants to do is move on to more exciting journalism, traveling the world, but nothing goes to plan when he spends time with Grace. She sets his world on fire and makes him question everything he has thought that his life was missing.

Once again, Lauren Layne has written fantastic banter between the characters. I love the snarky, sexy dialogue, the stolen glances and touches, and the chemistry between the two was palpable. The whole scenario regarding their little competition for the sake of the magazines, was really entertaining and I loved the funny situations they set up, the way they handled the fallout and how the relationship developed because of it.

This is my go-to feel good series and I love the way Lauren Layne writes. Her characters are smart, sophisticated, funny and real. They are easy to connect with and easy to love. The chemistry between the characters makes your reader just melt. They are the perfect blend for a feel good romantic story that has feeling and emotion, steamy and swoon-worthy scenes. One of my favourite authors of 2013

Love the One Your With ( Love, Sex, and Stiletto # 2 ) by Lauren Layne is a December 2013 Loveswept publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Grace writes for Stiletto magazine and thought the knew a thing or two about men. When she finds out that Greg cheated on her and she had never even seen it coming, she vows to never be fooled by a man again. This is the new Grace, Grace 2.0.When readers begin to complain that Stiletto magazine is naive about men and the advice doesn't really work, Julie compares notes with the editor of a popular men's magazine named Oxford. Alex is getting the same sort of feedback. The articles are all one sided. So, a little friendly competition is suggested. One person from Stiletto and one person from Oxford will go out on a few dates, then they will write articles about what they were thinking while on the date. Grace sees the perfect opportunity to show everyone what low down, lying, cheats men really are and volunteers to do the piece. So, who is the lucky guy Grace will go with? Jake Malone. Jake has had some run ins with women, one of which landed him in the gossip columns. He hated these types of tepid articles and at this stage in his career it was embarrassing to be writing such contrived pieces, but he was a professional and he agreed to do the article if he was promised a few things by his new boss. When Grace and Jake meet for their date they realize they have met once before. They shared a cab one day and a few sparks had flown between them much to Grace's dismay. The start off their first "date" by trading barbs. Then they begin to try and out do the other one by trying to make each other look bad for the article. But, before the date was over Grace had ended up spilling her guts. So, Grace gets a little help from the staff at Stiletto for her second encounter with Jake. From this point on it's war as each side is determined to win the competiion.Lauren Layne is turning into one of my favorite contemporary romance writers. This second book in the Stiletto series is just as great as the first one as an all out battle of the sexes erupts. Grace is hurt and because it is her job to give women advice about men, he is now a little insecure about her career. Jake, I think felt this type of thing was beneath him as a journalist, but he is just a competitive as the next guy and so he intends to do his job well. He never expected Grace to be such a challenge or to pull out all the stops in the competition. So, who will win the competition? Stiletto or Oxford? Jake or Grace? or maybe... both?Lauren Layne has a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. I loved the banter between Grace and Jake and couldn't help but cheer them both on. If you love chick lit, contemporary romance and happy ever afters you will really love this book. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. Overall this one gets an A.
