About this audiobook

Once, in the desert country of Miraji, there was a Sultan without an heir. The heir had been killed by his own brother, the treacherous Rebel Prince, who was consumed by jealousy and sought the throne for himself. Or so it was said by some. There were others who said that the Rebel Prince was not a traitor but a hero...In the final battle for the throne, Amani must fight for everything she believes in, but with the rebellion in pieces, and the Sultan's armies advancing across the desert plains, who will lead, who will triumph, who will live and who will die?

Although the book was quite easy to see through, there were some very emotional and headtwisting moments. I absolutely adore how familiarly the characters felt and how the unraveling of the story was often mentioned. Although the narrator is very talented in terms of voicing and interpreting a tense situation, in some parts every sentence seemed to end with a question mark, which main the main character very indecisive and small, which she certainly wasn't meant to be.

A bit repetitive (please do not loose your eyes in your head when you roll them...) and perhaps overly focused on should I die or should I go. I see a bit of a bigger problem in the too big a resemblance of the trilogy to the story of the Daveastan trilogy, but that perhaps is embedded in a construction of the genre.
But over all a pleasant if a bit lengthy conclusion to the trilogy (will not win new fans though).
