About this audiobook

Top neurosurgeon Samantha Thomson needs to get married fast and is tightlipped as to why. And with over $200,000 on offer to tie the knot, no questions asked, cash-strapped ER nurse Hayden Perez isn't about to demand answers.

The deal is only for a year of marriage, but Hayden's going into it knowing it will be a nightmare. Sam is complicated, rude, kind of cold, and someone Hayden barely tolerates at work, let alone wants to marry. The hardest part is that Hayden has to convince everyone around them that they're madly in love and that racing down the aisle together is all they've ever wanted. What could possibly go wrong?

Contains mature themes.

Loved the story but the audio sometimes cuts off a few seconds before the end of the chapter. You don't miss anything essential though.

I've loved this book when I first read it and it's narrated brilliant and with much humor. It's definitely something I like to listen again and again.

First time reading from this author and was quite surprised how entertaining the story was. I think all romance books will have that HEA ending but it's the journey getting there that I just loved. The bickering was fun and I didn't feel annoyed by the characters like some books I've read so far lately. Overall definitely recommend.

This is one of my top 3 all time favourite books. I'm always wary of listening to an audiobook of one of my favourites because the first time I did that, it just completely ruined the book for me. But Tanya Eby, YOU NAILED IT. Every word, every time. There were even a few times when your interpretation was better than mine, completely elevated the story for me. THANK YOU. LOVED IT.

Great book, even if the plot is kinda predictable.
I still enjoyed it a whole lot.!
Only downside was that the chapters sometimes cut the last word when going to the next chapter, something I believe is about the recording though.

I wasn’t expecting the book to be good. It is.
It’s not focused in sex. It keeps you entertained between the main characters as they keep bickering. Has it’s funny parts.
Obviously you can predict the end, but what happens in the middle is what excites you along the story.

Fake dating/relationship is one of my favorite tropes in fiction and this is such a fun and sweet and emotional depiction of it. I’ve read the book previously but I loved listening to it almost just as much. This is my first book with this narrator, but they did a wonderful job!!

Best thing about this book was the end. I stuck with it because I kept skipping through it just to get to end. No more of this author. If I want to be indoctrinated then I’ll go do high school all over again.

I was given this ARC by the publisher in exchange for an Honest Review.Hayden is a nurse who is very much living paycheck to paycheck. One night when she's trying to shift from Night Shift to Day Shift she stumbles onto an online ad where someone is looking to be married for a year. Whoever takes the 'job' will get paid to be married for a year. But, the readers (and Hayden) don't know the exact reason at first, and while it drove me as crazy as it drove Hayden not to know when Benson chose to reveal the truth it seemed like the perfect place for it.Sam is the woman who hires Hayden to marry her. She's a Neurosurgeon at the same hospital where Hayden works and is not the most warm and fuzzy person at work. And so it's definitely a bumpy start to the business relationship. Of course, this is a romance book, and so slowly but surely they learn more about each other as the year goes on. And there were pretty awesome twists and turns that I didn't see coming during the year as well. There was also a cool subplot about Hayden's best friend (another nurse) Luce and a woman where they get their coffee, Clemmie. It was super, super cute, and very cool. But, all the characters were amazingly written, from Sam's little brother to all of Hayden's family, especially her four-year-old nephew Javi. The description of four-year-old soccer was totally spot on, and while I will say that for various reasons I don't generally like Alzheimer's Disease stories, this one was so, so well done as a subplot. With the title I had no clue what I would get inside this novel, but I like TV medical dramas, and one of my favorite hetero movies is The Proposal (I couldn't tell you why, but it is) and so I thought I'd give this story a try and I'm very, very glad that I did. It was so well written and even more importantly it was plotted so tightly that you could probably bounce a quarter off of it. Seriously, go read it, you won't regret it.
