I listened to this as an audiobook and have mixed feelings. The narrator did a good job with the parts of the story that were not dialogue. But her voices for the all of characters we grating at best and the accents cartoonish. I found myself so annoyed with the main character’s voice it was hard to concentrate on the story itself at times.

With that being said, my assessment of the story is that is was certainly compelling. The dialogue fell short and seemed unrealistic. Julia often annoyed me with her lack of awareness to her surroundings. The romance bit felt a bit more forced than I would’ve liked, it relied a lot on instant chemistry and less on building up a romance.

I would give her books another chance, but I’d probably stick to reading them to see if that makes better.
