Excellent. Great narrators, I have never read the bible cover to cover and now I feel like I know so much more about the times before Jesus and about Gods undying love for us all. Highly recommend this book for ALL ages

Description states it covers “Genesis to Revelations.” One small problem; there’s no such thing as the book of “Revelations.” The name is “Revelation” (singular). This oversight is a common mistake by those who lack biblical literacy, and to see the official description make this error diminishes any credibility that this is a good resource.

Some of the content is very provocative and opens a lot of fascinating questions and answers, which is what I like about this. But I wish the author would keep his personal opinions to himself and just stick to the more general idea that the book was supposed to be about. I picked this book because I wanted to see the Bible in a more genuine, even scientific way, which can be done. But when the author gives it a personal and political view, then it loses credibility quickly. Just take what you will from this book and apply it to your research. I’ll try to ignore the author’s personal opinions

For example: He creepily describes Eve as perfect and beautiful… a bit too much. Almost as if he himself is turned in by imagining her. And once again, women are valued by their looks alone. He never talked about Adam’s looks. Why does he even have to talk about that? Again… creepy.
Then, he starts saying that God made man and woman to represent what marriage should be… no. He said “multiply the earth” not “I pronounce you husband and wife” or “make sure you only love the opposite sex.” Yes, to make babies naturally, you’d need a man and a woman. But God never said “love is only between a man and a woman.” That is an opinion. Keep that to yourself.

He also skipped over the fact that there are two creation stories. That would’ve been worth discussing. Gen 1 has one creation and Gen 2 has a different one. Everything was created in different order in those two books. It is clearly written that men and women (PLURAL) were created at the same time in Gen 1. Whereas in Gen 2, we read about Eve created from Adam’s rib. And each book has a different creation order. In one we have humans first and the other animals first. That would’ve been a good topic to talk about.

I especially and absolutely dislike his prayers in between each chapter. One thing Jesus DID say was to pray to yourself. Just between you and God, and don’t pray to get attention. It feels SO fake and theatrical. There’s a lot of propaganda about his books and websites as well. Felt like a commercial in between books.

Overall, I think I would enjoy this better as a book instead of audiobook, so I can have control of what I can skip easier.
