About this audiobook

The Lightwoods, the Shadowhunters who run the New York Institute, are expecting a new addition to their family: the orphaned son of their father’s friend, Jace Wayland. Alec and Isabelle aren’t too sure they want a new brother, and their parents are not assuaging their fears, too occupied with the dark news that Raphael Santiago, second-in-command of the New York vampire clan, has brought from the Shadow Market.

It was so beautiful and touching, we get to see Jace, Alec and Isabelle as little monkeys. And of course Will and Jem almost made me cry.

The Lily Chen dialogue sounded too much like it belonged today and not in the 80s, especially when she talked about Brother Zechariah's abs.

The tone and style of the later Shadowhunters books are different from TMI since author collaborated with other writers. As this is the first novella of this collection, I bet the rest of the novellas will also be different.

The audiobook reader is boring with his nasal voice droning on and on.

That was enlightening! I mean I couldn't have pictured it better myself of the time Jonathan Wayland arrives by boat to the New York Institute. Of course, I didn't know who Brother Zachariah was the very first time I read the City of Bones. However, after reading all the Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices it was a welcome addition to everything we've read in the series.

In Son of the Dawn, brother Zachariah is seen in the marketplace with the vampire Raphael Santiago. They join forces to intercept a boatload of Yin fen.
