About this audiobook

Brady Collins is juggling full-time fatherhood with the booming auto repair business he runs out of his barn. His ex-wife's sudden death has shaken him, but the devastating news that follows leaves him reeling: Sam is not his biological son.

When Sam's wealthy maternal grandparents decide they want custody of the child, Brady knows he's in for the fight of his life. Brady's attorney tips him off that one major life change would virtually assure him of winning guardianship of baby Sam at the final hearing: the stability of an impending marriage. And his friend Hope is willing to step in as the loving and devoted fiancée.

Local radio celebrity Hope Daniels has been driven by a solitary goal her entire life, and she's finally been offered her dream job—in Atlanta. Unfortunately, her arrangement with Brady requires her presence in Copper Creek, and she is faced with missing the chance of a lifetime or standing in the way of a dear friend’s dreams.

Both Hope and Brady would give their lives for beautiful Sam. But can they give their trust to one another? With this new novel in the Blue Ridge Romance series, Honeysuckle Dreams shines light on the complicated and beautiful angles of love.

Honeysuckle Dreams by Denise Hunter is an incredibly sweet and heartfelt marriage of convenience romance. This latest addition to the Blue Ridge Romance series can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend the entire series.

The best thing  to come out of Brady Collins' marriage to his recently deceased ex-wife, Audrey, is their baby son, Sam.  To say that his life is turned upside down when he discovers his former in-laws are planning to sue for custody on the grounds that he is not Sam's biological father would be an understatement.  When his lawyer erroneously concludes that Brady and his good friend, Hope Daniels, are engaged, they decide to keep up the pretense after the disappointing results of the paternity test. After Brady wins temporary custody in the months leading up the judge's permanent ruling on the case, he and Hope decide their friendship is a strong basis for marriage. Both Brady and Hope carry wounds from previous relationships but since neither expects to fall in love, they are taken off guard when these unresolved issues upset their burgeoning relationship.

Given his history with his drug addicted mother, Brady's discovery that Audrey tricked him into marriage is an unexpected blow. However, since he dearly loves Sam, he is upset but the trade off is worth the heartache. Brady genuinely cares for Hope and their easygoing friendship is a bright spot in his life, but he is surprised when she readily agrees to marry him.  Even more disconcerting is how easily they settle into married life together. In the weeks leading up their final court date, Brady is delighted by the change in their relationship but he is concerned about their future when he senses Hope is beginning to pull away from him.

Hope has not had a serious relationship since the very tragic end to her high school romance several years earlier.  She genuinely cares for Brady and she loves Sam so a marriage of convenience provides her the family she has dreamed of.  Since they love each other as friends but they are not in love, Hope will get everything she wants without risking her heart again. Hope's minor concern about the future of her career is easily overcome so she is stunned when her old demons return after she and Brady take their marriage to the next level.

Since Brady and Hope have settled so easily into their new life, neither are expecting any real issues to arise after their "courtship" finally leads to intimacy between them. This change in status quo occurs simultaneously with Brady's estranged mother reappearing in his life, a career opportunity for Hope and the final custody hearing.  Brady is taken off guard by Hope's somewhat extreme choices when the dust settles around them and he is at a loss how to handle the unexpected situation. Will Hope finally talk to him about what has sparked such a drastic decision? Or is this the beginning of the end of their happy life together?

Despite some unnecessary drama and angst late in the story, Honeysuckle Dreams is an engaging romance that is very heartwarming. Brady is a wonderful man caught in a situation not of his making, yet he refuses to let hurt and anger control him. Hope is a lovely young woman who selflessly agrees to help a friend in need but refuses to take steps to help herself when her unresolved past unexpectedly resurfaces.  This newest addition to Denise Hunter's Blue Ridge Romance series is a wholesome love story with a gentle undercurrent of faith that fans of the genre will enjoy.

Brady was a gentleman through and through, and a stand up father to boot, even when things started coming down around him. Hope was an independent woman with a heart of gold dealing with her own demons from a tragic past that she just can't seem to let go of. Sam was an adorably sweet baby caught in the middle of it all, but making the best of the unfortunate situation with his cheerful demeanor and easy laugh. Could they forge a life together in less than the usual circumstances?

I love how the couple felt REAL, despite the seemingly out there scenario they were placing themselves in. I mean, would YOU want to work through a marriage backwards? Start off as married and aim to become a couple in all senses of the word? Yeah, sounds daunting, and yet these two have a longstanding friendship to build upon...whether or not its enough to sustain them when times get rough is another story altogether, but the foundation is laid nonetheless. Despite the heartache it caused, I appreciated the hard times Brady and Hope had to go through....from the custody battle to unexpected blasts from the past to opportunities too good to pass up to lingering fears best brought to light...it made you love them and root for them to make it through THAT much more. My heart ached when Sam's future hung in the balance. I was beside myself when Hope was withdrawing from everyone and everything and yet as helpless as she seemed to do a thing about it. Good thing they had friends, family, and faith to fall back on (even if their relationship with each wasn't always surefooted) because truly it was the combination of them all that helped them reach towards a future they promised one another...and then some.

All in all, a sweet story with its own share of heartache and strife. I loved this book much more than I thought I was going to and that's saying something because my hopes were pretty high. Though my first time reading the author's work, I can't say it'll be my last. Recommended read for Christian Fiction fans as well as Contemporary Romance fans who like their stories sweet with playful banter.

Brady discovers once again the betrayal of his dead ex-wife when her parents try to gain custody of the son he thought was his. In order to keep custody, Brady needs to get married, and his friend, Hope steps in to help. This is a story of love growing out of an arranged marriage of sorts. Both Brady and Hope want a good marriage for different reasons, but their willingness to sacrifice and care for one another makes the marriage more than just an arrangement.

There is nothing better than a book that sweeps you up and puts you smack dab in the center of the story. The author knows how to capture characters with real problems and let them unfold with emotions. I loved the characters so much that I was hoping someone would turn the book into a movie. It's not everyday you hear about a single father but Brady is an example of not running away but stepping up to his responsibilities. He is so kind and loves his son Sam with all his heart. I loved reading about the interaction between father and son. Brady knows what it is like to be abandoned by parents and will do everything he can to make Sam feel loved and wanted. His best friend Hope is smart, pretty and smitten with Sam. I liked how she helped Brady out by watching Sam when needed. She has a great career on the radio with hopes of one day getting the job of her dreams. Hope has carried around a fear of losing people she loves since the loss of someone special some years back. I think that holds her back from being in a serious relationship. When there is a chance that Brady could lose custody of Sam he asks Hope for help. I was quite surprised at what he wanted them to do, but I admired him for wanting to keep Sam. The story is filled with surprises and keeps readers glued to their seats. It's a love story like none I've ever read. How far would you go to help a friend? Fear plays a big part in the story and I liked how the author used faith examples to help the character work through fear. Both Brady and Hope deal with abandonment issues and it causes distance between them. Can they work through their problems and give Sam a safe and loving home? Don't miss the discussion questions at the back of the book. They are good questions that make you examine your life and increase your faith.I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild. The review is my own opinion.

Once again, I have the pleasure of reading another fantastic Denise Hunter novel. This is book 2 in her series and I loved it just as much as the first one! This one brings us back to the lives of some amazing characters! Ms. Hunter created a novel that has not only pulled me in, but really made me think a lot of what I’ve gone through with custody battles of my own.I loved Hope and Brady in this book! They really put Sam first and that pulled at my heart strings in so many ways. When it comes to kids, they need to be first and foremost, and Brady? Wow. I loved his devotion to Sam no matter what.Watching Hope and Brady together was so refreshing! Hope was willing to sacrifice in order for Brady to achieve gaining custody. That really pulled at my heartstrings for sure. Watching them come to terms with their relationship, seeing them grow together for each other and for Sam, really kept me hooked!Ms. Hunter’s 4 star worthy novel is another keeper, in my opinion. With life like characters, an inspiring plot line and a few twists thrown in for good measure, you won’t be sorry you picked this one up! I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store for us! Hats off and two thumbs up to the talented Denise Hunter.*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

I was sent this book by through BookLook Bloggers. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review. The one thing I love about this program is discovering books and authors I normally would not have picked up normally. I previously reviewed a Denise Hunter book, and I fell in love. I ended up buying a ton of her work and she has become one of my favorite authors. I was so excited when I was able to get her newest work to review as well. I knew I would be reading it the day it showed up at my door, which is exactly what I did! This was a story about second chances which I love. I am not going to lie! I literally started this the night it showed up at my door, and I finished it by the next morning. She just has a way to pull you into a story, and make words flow with ease. I am addicted to her work, and Honeysuckle Dreams was another amazing read. I did not even realize this was the second book in the Blue Ridge Romance series, as book one was my very first book by the author. I was excited to be back with some of the characters from book one. However; this can be read as a standalone as well. It did take me a minute to remember the storyline for some of the characters, as this jumps right into the story. Overall, another amazing read from Denise Hunter and I will continue to pick up everything she puts out.

The author has given us a story of two longtime friends, broken from past relationships and yet trying to be there for one sweet baby, a catalyst to bringing them together, or not.Can these two forge a convincing union to make a home for a precocious infant, who desperately needs them. Will they be able to let go of the past, and move on with a picture-perfect marriage, at least in the eyes of others, or will their worlds come tumbling down?Answers are here and you will be quickly page turning as we follow the outcome of the lives of these involved, and hoping for the baby’s sake all the right decisions will be made.I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
