Reviews for You Me Everything
66 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jess is the heroine of this novel. She's a single working mother who is caring for both her son and her terminally ill mother. Adam, her ex, lives in France and has a limited relationship with their son. At her mother's insistence Jess and William spend a summer in France visiting Adam. The goal is to help them bond. This journey proves challenging, rewarding, enjoyable and difficult.I'd recommend this book to fans of Me Before You, Inside The O'Briens, and other thought-provoking novels that add some romance.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Good writing but half way theough it was just too repetitive and predictable
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5You Me Everything by Catherine Isaac is a well-written summer read that will hold the reader's attention without being overly sentimental. Jess and her 10-year-old son William leave England to spend the summer in the Dordogne. They are staying at Chateau Roussignol which is owned by Adam, Jess' former lover and William's father. The purpose of the trip is to bring together father and son in the hope that they can get acquainted and maybe form a lasting bond. Jess has a secret reason for bringing them together which she does not want to share with either of them. Many unplanned events will occur during the summer in the French countryside. I highly recommend You Me Everything to anyone who enjoy an unpredictable love story. Thank you to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Every once in a while, I love a book that follows a formula for romance with more than just lust. This novel taking place in France fits the bill. Adding in a genetic disease that causes dementia as a young age adds the touch of spice needed.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I thought this would be an average British Chick Lit, but it was much deeper, and even a little sad.
