- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5We’re lucky to have this first hand history. Great performance.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Straight talking. Has the ring of truth about it, which is sad considering the bloodshed. Fascinating account.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An interesting account of the time but very one sided
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Primary source history. Wonderful for understanding the history of the mountain men and their Indian conflicts, mindsets and lifestyles.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing!! One man's life captures the spirit of the West.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Interesting Old Mountain Man History by Someone who was there. After reading, I feel as though I was there. An exciting time for exploration which will never happen again. Although an "Indian Fighter", the biographer is a Indian Admirer. If more Americans had his experience and knowledge of the Red Man, the shame and horror that befell the white mans' treatment might never have happened.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5William Thomas Hamilton tells of his life as a trapper and Indian fighter. He describes how the natives fought and how the trappers managed to live and trade with them. I would recommend this audio book to any one who likes the true history of the early Americans.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you like the old west and mountain man story's. This is the book for u. Awesome
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I just soaked this book up. I really, really enjoyed it. Written by a mountain man who wrote this in the late 1800's after a lifetime being a mountain man in the north and southwest of what is now the USA. Amazingly erudite and superbly readable, romantic in the true sense of the word, and certainly counter to many of the myths about these men and the Indians.I find this area magical and the history fascinating from and including Lewis and Clark and through the 1800's.Superb, superb!
