About this audiobook

From the Queen of Scream comes a novel that will raise the hair on the back of your neck.

Not every grandmotherly type bakes cookies.

What's more frightening than finding out that the kindly old ladies living across the street from you are anything but?

As a child, Tim Robertson is selling cookies with his best friend Damien when they knock on the door of the house across the street from him. Two old ladies open the door and Tim never sees his best friend again.

Twenty years later, Tim has tried to move on and forget what happened back then. He is married, has a son, and just bought the house of his dreams in small town Cocoa Beach. When the house across the street from them is sold, they are all looking forward to getting new neighbors, until Tim realizes the old ladies are back to haunt him and the rest of the town.

Good story line and character development. Perfect narrator to compliment the story, causing me to give this an extra star because of him. Some of the dialogs were not realistic, somewhat mild for the circumstances, which means only 3 only stars for the storyline . Supernaturally themed, with mild horror elements and some thrills with the action scenes but again some were not realistic. There were twists and turns but not enough for me to be completely captivated. If you are a horror buff it's an ok story, if you are more milder in your likes then you probably would enjoy it more. This for me just missed the mark, if not for the narrator, it would have been just ok.

OMG I loved this book! I had never read a Willow Rose book, even though I have 9 of her works on my Kindle, but when I saw that this was available as an Audiobook, I could NOT pass it up! It was so perfect to read a horror novel that was not overloaded with gratuituous sex and violence and STILL be a horror novel was absolutely the BEST!

Now the story takes place 30 years ago, and Tim Robertson and his best friend Damien are selling home made cookies to earn money to go on a school field trip. They go to the big old house across the street from them where two OLD sisters, Magda and Stella live, when they open the door; Tim never sees Damien again!

It is now 20 years later and Tim being a father of a young boy and married to the girl of his dreams, move back to Cocoa Beach Florida and purrchase the home of their dreams.....until they notice that there are new neighbors moving into the house across the street. The house that no one has occupied for a while, everyone is happy knowing there will be new neighbors, maybe ones with Kids.....that is until Tim realizes the two old ladies are back!!! Unexplained and weird so called 'accidents' start happening in the small town, and the sisters are always there at the scene of the crime. Tim, being a city employee knows that they are behind the murders and accidents but no one will believe him, including his wife!
Get ready to go for a ride in a light blue Cadillac from the 50's with two 'old spicy and very diabolical demons from Hell!!!'
Enjoy, 'To Hell In A Handbasket' by Willow Rose.
I LOVED it....am readying a review right now for my Youtube Horror channel; AreYouIntoHorror?

? Analysis inspired by HBO?s Tales from the CryptINT. OPENING SEQUENCE:Danny Elfman?s macabre main theme plays in booming melody as the tracking shot leads up to the front door of the ghoulish Crypt Keeper?s haunted mansion. Now inside, the tracking shot pans quickly down hallways and stairways, and eventually descends below into the basement. Suddenly, the grisly Crypt Keeper bursts out from his coffin, laughing maniacally; ultimately, the green slime streams down over the screen as the main title appears. The corpse that is the Crypt Keeper then speaks?in his menacing voice-over?the transfixing series title, Taaales from the Cryyypt. For the sake of this review, I will play stand-in for the Crypt Keeper, and enlighten you boils and ghouls with the eerie preliminaries of the very frightening prose currently under review:CUT TO:Cat Ellington: [In a phantasmal voice] Hello, kiddies! You?re about to venture into a spine-tingling, literary nightmare of ghastly and unearthly events, as Tim Robertson, a man haunted by his long ago past, comes to understand that not all little old ladies are as fragile as they look to be; and that not every little old lady should be one for whom you would open a door?or even help to cross a street. This slaughterous, bone-chilling tale of necromancy is called? To Hell in a Handbasket.FADE?OUTWillow Rose has been dubbed the ?Queen of Scream? for a legitimate reason. Willow Rose is the ?Amazon #1 Bestselling Horror Author??for a legitimate reason. The Rose-penned top-rated horror novel, To Hell in a Handbasket, could in fact be a Tales from the Crypt TV series episode, or perhaps one of its theatrical features. And as I sit composing this review, I can only imagine in my mind how the comic strip for this grim terror would have been illustrated by any one, two, or more of the gifted creative artists who were stationed in the show?s art department. Despite the fact that there are some who would beg to differ, the writing style of Willow Rose is indeed quite a bit like that of old era Stephen King. And because To Hell in a Handbasket is a semi-novella that will take its reader up to four hours to enjoy, I will not advance further in elaborate detail. However, if you are one of those readers who happens to be a die-hard enthusiast of unnerving horror, then To Hell in a Handbasket is a work of terrifying suspense that I would eagerly recommend. Nice work, Willow Rose.Five bloodied stars.? Not at all the horror story it was billed as. More like a poorly written farce. Would have given it zero stars but for the surprise and clever ending. Very disappointed. The central character Tim was not at all likable. A couple of chapters in and I was hoping the old ladies would get him and do their worst.

To Hell in a Handbasket by Willow RoseDuring his childhood Tim and his friend Damien are selling cookies door to door. When they go a house (across the street from Tim) two old ladies answer, and Damien is never seen again. Tim tries to forget this horrible day. Many years later when he is an adult with his own child the house is sold. He thinks this is a good thing, until he meets the new neighbors.A fast paced original horror story. Told from past to present, centered around Tim and the house. People keep disappearing and Tim is certain it has everything to do with these old women. Tim is determined to get to the truth at any cost. Overall I found To Hell in a Handbasket enjoyable. I love the writing from Willow Rose, I feel those who love a good scare will enjoy this book as well as I did.

I obtained this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review and couldn't help but root for Tim! It started when the sold cookies in their neighborhood to go on a school field trip. His best friend wanted to go to one more house as they hardly had enough money but Tim didn't want to go to the creepy old house as he wanted to get home before the storm came and not get struck by lightening, but he went with his friend but stayed outside as his feet felt from to the ground. He waited and waited but Damien never came out. The storm was almost overhead and he raced for home but he was struck by lightening and he fell to the ground.....
