About this audiobook

Best friends Shenin and Tyler didn't mean to fall in love. Though, does anyone? A friendship-turned love affair is hard enough to navigate through; throw in IEDs and gun battles, along with the separation that inevitably comes with life in the military, and you're asking for trouble. This is uncharted territory for both of them. Tyler has been openly gay for years, while Shenin has always dated men. With the government's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, it's a path that could endanger both of their careers but realizing they cannot live without each other, they take it all on to prove that love really can win.

Nice Military series of stories. I am a lesbian who served in the USAF. In the service I rode a 1000cc motorcycle, and when I was a CCPO (CA Correctional Peace Officer), like Shannon, I rode a Honda Shadow 750cc. So I can relate to a few things in this book.

Luckily for me, I was in before Don't Ask Don't Tell.

The story is actually good. And it’s not centred in sex, but in the romance.
What I HATED was the reader... Barbara Rich doesn’t have a good voice, sorry to say this. Sounds like she is either drunk or wearing braces. So it’s quite irritating...
Not sure I’ll be able to listen to the rest of the series. Unfortunately I can’t stand the way she reads.

My first time trying a new author as I am new to lgbtq romantic fiction.

What I loved about this book? Yes there is drama or obstacles- if you will. But the author isnt into trauma porn. It’s not about taking you on a horrendous emotional roller coaster.

The characters suffer sure. That’s life. But mostly- they win! And I love the lightness. The hopefulness you feel reading this.

If you are someone searching for love- I hope you find it soon. But this book reminds you that- it’s where you least expect it. Just be ready.
