About this audiobook

No one knows the real Carter Donovan. They only see the goalie with a chiseled body and the fake smiles I reserve for the camera. My horrific past is interfering with my game. But I have no idea how to fix it. Not until I meet a famous romance author who likes to play games of her own do I consider sharing my past. Sydney wants to know my secrets and the meaning behind my tattoos. All I wanted was sex.

So, she tortures me with her dirty words and pictures, thrives off the steamy conversations that give me a never-ending case of blue balls. But the more I get to know her I realize she could be the light to my darkness. I only have one problem. Can she accept me the way I am?

Contains mature themes.

    Where to start..
This is not an easy one, although if you can dredge thru it, the back end is a good book. Also this should come with a trigger alert for abused children
Sydney is annoying, purposely abrasive, crude, and worst of all a tease. Oh and ultra rich and snobby
Donovan was bullied by peers & abused at home. But has grown into chiseled, burly hockey star.
These 2 trigger and torment each other as façade to hide their insecurities and fears, it drags, it’s mind numbing to push thru. But when they start working together it’s really special. That’s makes this author either genius or super lucky. 1st 2 books in series were much smoother. In spite of all the rough edges too much is glossed over.
My issue is rough sex, is bordering on abusive, coming from characters abused back NOT okay. Continuing the cycle it’s not cool at all. I don’t care that it’s presented as mutual or kink or was in context he would never harm her. Let’s just call BS to that.. sorry, not sorry but rant is over
