Dismayed, Little Claus heads to market to sell the horse hide, but instead cons a farmer out of a bag of money in an little affair involving the farmer's wife, the deacon, a wizard and the devil...

"Little Claus and Big Claus" was released on May 8th, 1835. The original title in Danish: "Lille Claus og Store Claus".

During Andersen's lifetime he was feted by royalty and acclaimed for having brought joy to children across Europe.
