Digital audiobook performed by Laura BenantiBook three in the Devil Wears Prada trilogy focuses on Emily, the first assistant to Amanda Priestly in the original book. Emily has left publishing for a career in public relations, and an enviable Hollywood A-list client roster. But her refusal to adopt social media is losing her clients to a younger, trendier social-media “influencer.” That is, until a US Senator’s wife is arrested for DUI while ferrying her son and his friends home from a New Year’s Eve kids’ party. This is not quite so snarky as the original, which I found to be great fun to read, but it’s very entertaining. The suburbs take a beating with Weisberger making fun of the “moms who lunch” (or more often, do Pilates and fast). Amanda Priestly makes an appearance, though I could have done without her involvement, it seemed to diminish Emily’s own abilities.A fun, fast beach read of a novel.Laura Benanti does a fine job of narrating the audiobook. She sets a good pace and does a great job of differentiating the many female characters, giving each of the three main women distinct voices to avoid any confusion for the listener.

Light and easy read about an image consultant who is losing clients. She decides to help a gorgeous supermodel who is being framed for a DUI by her husband. It’s not great literature but definitely readable.

When Life Gives You Lululemons isn’t really a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, it’s more of a spin-off. I didn’t even realize it was written by the same author until about halfway through the audiobook! I’ve never read The Devil Wears Prada and it didn’t affect my enjoyment or understanding of this book at all.Emily is an image consultant who’s having trouble adapting to the modern age of social media and her business is suffering as a result. When her friend Karolina, a former supermodel, is arrested for a crime that she may or may not have committed, Emily takes the case. While When Life Gives You Lululemons supposed to be chick-lit, I thought it was more than that. Karolina’s predicament had my stomach in knots. And I was also really angry at her ex-husband. There were a lot of funny parts too, it was a good balance. It was a nice book to listen to because it was entertaining but didn’t’ require so much concentration that I missed my turn while driving. That has actually happened to me more times than I care to mention with other audiobooks!Fans of The Devil Wears Prada will be glad to know that Miranda Priestly does make an appearance. However, I think anyone looking for a lighter read will appreciate this book.

It was an easy read, palate cleanser for me! Fun story of Emily Charlton still her mean old self but getting a little softer. Friend of friend in trouble and Emily uses her PR skills to help sort things out.

I was wary going into this one as I have not read any of the other books in the Prada series although I did see the movie. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could read this easily as a standalone novel. It is a hilarious observation of motherhood, the suburbs, friendship, and how women come together in a crisis starring the incredibly sassy Emily Charlton. At first, I could not imagine her in a setting other than as Miranda Priestly's arrogant assistant at first but I could easily see her in the suburbs in this book. It is hilariously tongue in cheek and laugh out loud funny.

Smart, fun, and satisfying. The narrator of the audio book version did a fantastic job.

Light heart reading and sometime breathless march forward. It has very good description of the life style of super rich in Greenwich, Connecticut, particularly the stay home moms. In a way, I am intrigued by the description of the life of Greenwich which seems to draw a parallel with British aristocracy with the american money backing.

The perfect summer read! This book had me laughing out loud and rooting for the characters. I loved everything about it from suburban life, celebrity gossip, girl power, and everything in between. The title of this book is perfect and is the start of the characters adventures. This is pure chic lit and just fun. I listened to this on Audio and the narrator was fabulous.

Of course, this is a sequel to the "The Devil Wears Prada" book after Emily and Andy have moved on from their sentence with Miranda Priestly. (And yes, she does make an appearance in this book.)Emily is now an agent to the rich and famous helping them get out of the stupid things that they sometimes tend to do. A new agent is in town and they are one by one taking Emily's clients away. This leads her to spending time in Greenwich with her friend, Mariam, who is a semi retired lawyer who stays at home with her three children. One of her best friends is Karolina Hartwell, a retired Victoria Secret's Angel who is married to a Senator (boo hiss). (You will have to read the book to see why I added those words after the word Senator. Ha!!The adventures start as Emily, who literally despises the suburbs, comes to visit.Life is suddenly cray, cray in Greenwich as you read about the adventures of these three. I laughed out loud so many times. And, I shook my head, a lot.An absolutely enjoyable read that kept me entertained until the very end.BTW, Andy is mentioned in the book via a phone call with Emily and we discover what she's up to these days.On another note: I watched "The Devil Wears Prada" and I read the book years before that. I just knew when I was reading the book that it would make a great movie!! I know Emily Blunt played Emily, Miranda's first assistant. I've watched the movie several times. However. . .while reading this book, I could not get the face of Krysten Ritter out of my mind. It drove me crazy throughout this book. I kept trying to see Emily Blunt but my mind would not let it go. Ha!!Thanks to Simon & Schuster and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

What a fun read to kick off the summer season of poolside reading! Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada, is back on the literary scene with her newest book and it does not disappoint.Emily, Miriam and Karolina are the main players in this story and they compliment each other so beautifully with their differing personalties. When Karolina finds herself in a sticky situation, Emily and Miriam team up to get her life back on track and in the process, each of them face their own challenges and come out on top. Some parts are a bit racy and there is some foul language occasionally, but for the most part, this is a light-hearted story that readers will enjoy. There is even a cameo appearance of Miranda Priestley and Andy. Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for allowing me to read an advance copy and give my honest review.

A special thank you to NetGalley, Edelweiss and Simon & Schuster Canada for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.Lauren Weisberger is back and so is Emily Charlton! Readers will remember Emily from The Devil Wears Prada as Miranda Priestly's chief assistant. Emily is now living in Hollywood and is an image consultant for the rich and famous. Although her roster of clients includes high profile celebrities, she is losing clients to another younger image consultant and seems to be in a downward spiral. She needs to put herself back on top—nobody does damage control like Emily, but the problem is she is hopeless when it comes to social media. Karolina Hartwell is the ex-model wife of a senator on track for the presidency. Their life seems picture perfect until Karolina is arrested for a DUI with a Suburban full of children. Although the women met at Runway years earlier, Miriam is the link between them. She was a partner at a prestigious Manhattan law firm, but decided to move to the suburbs of Greenwich, CT to spend more time with her children. Being a stay-at-home mom in a wealthy affluential neighbourhood sounds like every woman's dream, but Miriam is discovering that it is more stressful than her high-profile job.The three women band together over Karolina's woes to navigate their way through life in the burbs. All is not as it appears, Hollywood has nothing over Greenwich. Can I tell you that I tore through this book? It was completely addictive and indulgent. And the title...can we just take a moment to appreciate how clever and cheeky it is?Weisberger has penned three very different, but as equally intriguing, characters. Fans of The Devil Wears Prada are not going to be disappointed. In my opinion, this was far better than Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns and I'm wondering if it is because this book came home to the characters that made the series what it was, Emily and Miranda. This book should be top of your summer reads pile. Perfect for discussing with your girlfriends over your favourite cocktails! Cheers, Lauren Weisberger.
