About this audiobook
"[A] mystery with teeth — and nails." — New York Times Book Review
From the author of It’s Always the Husband comes a riveting new suspense audiobook about privilege, power, and what happens when we let ambition take control.
For Rose Enright, enrolling in a prestigious New England boarding school is the opportunity of a lifetime. But for Rose’s vulnerable twin sister Bel, Odell Academy is a place of temptation and danger. When Bel falls in with a crowd of wild rich kids who pressure her into hazing Rose, the sisters’ relationship is shattered. Rose turns to her dorm mother, Sarah Donovan, for advice. But Bel turns to Sarah’s husband Heath, a charismatic and ambitious teacher. Is Heath trying to help Bel or take advantage of her? In a world of privilege, seduction, and manipulation, only one sister will live to tell the truth.
In an audiobook full of twists, turns, and dark secrets, Michele Campbell once again proves her skill at crafting intricately spun and completely compelling plots.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Ehh, this was pretty boring, but the last 30 minutes was full of action.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The ending was impressive... Totally unexpected and worth the listen.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What a twisty, turny ride of a read this one was. What happens when recently orphaned twins have to move cross country and make a transition from public school to an exclusive private school? In this instance, murder and mayhem. Rose and Bel are very different, and not just because they're fraternal twins. The move and their subsequent actions drive a deep wedge between them, and their actions have serious consequences. The story is told from several different viewpoints, and there is much mystery surrounding who has done what, including who the actual victim is. She creates a lovely setting for a series of decidedly unlovely events.
I really enjoyed this one - all those twists and turns kept me guessing right through to the epilogue, and January LaVoy's narration is excellent. It definitely left me wanting to read Campbell's first book, and whatever subsequent books she writes.
