About this audiobook

The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you're anyone but me. The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, I'm very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy I'm attracted to.

At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since I'd never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong. He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over campus.

I might have also propositioned him, run away from him, attacked him with a cooking utensil . . . and . . . uh, maybe I shouldn't tell you all of it. It's pretty normal stuff, things you'd expect . . . from me. Eventually, the time came when I couldn't hide anymore-not that he'd have let me even if I tried.

Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking away. It doesn't help that I'm not the most subtle person in the world either.

He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because of my quirks. I can't even tell him that I think my heart beats differently whenever he's around.

He thinks we're going to be best friends. I think I have a big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I don't care that I'm not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him.

The thing is, that's exactly what I'm doing-what we're doing, I think.

    Annoying and really stupid heroine.

Narrators were just the worst. The male narrator’s female voices are so bad I had to switch to finish reading and not listening. The female narrator leaves big pauses for no reason. Just bizarre.

As far as the story goes, it got pretty boring. I skipped the majority of the middle of the book.

I still like this author, though. Loving Jason Thorn and Marriage For One were great, so I will still be checking out her other books.

Unfortunately I really didn’t like this book.

The female lead’s character was just plain weird. Not cute-weird. Weird-weird.

The female narrator kept pausing in weird spots.

The male narrator made the female lead sound like the old wicked witch from the cartoon Snow White.

Storyline was also very slow, but I maybe didn’t give it enough time.

Loved this. The characters were great. I thought the narrators were perfect except dillon’s voice for any female character was atrocious. The book was so good it didn’t matter. Feel every emotion.

    Fantastic!
I always struggle to finish stories as I just get bored but somehow I didn’t even get close to getting bored with this story

I think the audio narration killed this book for me. The female narrator kept making these weird pauses between sentences and she was driving me crazy even while listening on a higher speed. The male narrator did such a bad girl voice. OMG, it was so so funny, even when the book called for some angst.

I read the last 30% as an ebook and it was better. This book is funny and the characters are nice. The last 30% was also when the smex made a lasting appearance ?. It was a sweet read. But ultimately, I wasn't impressed.

The story was good but he was oddly possessive. Made me not like the last few chapters. The male narrator also made all the women sound weird. I liked it but i dont think i’ll ever read it again.

I did not figure out the relationship between Zoe and Mark until the hints came directly from these characters. That’s a first for me, and a huge plus cause the author made me think of another direction for the book, and I got a surprise. So, the first half of the book was great, the other half was ok, typical romance, but with a few things here and there to keep it entertaining.

Dylan and Zoe are collage student, they meet for a while after Zoe has been dared to kiss Dylan but she ends up running away. Zoe and dylan meet again a year later but of course runs away agin .she runs into him again but this time his her roommate.

Ella maise you’ve done it again. I LOVED this book, the plot, the love, the slow burn THE SPICE and everything else. I love Dylan I love how you just made fall inlove with a fictional man AGAIN so for that thank you

    My fav quotes

“I didn’t want to miss out on another second with this girl. Fuck everything. Fuck everyone. None of it mattered.”

“It feels like I’ve been waiting for this to happen all my life, waiting for you to happen”

“Okay, don’t freak out, but I’m falling for you so hard, Dylan Reed—complete free fall. I’ll probably land pretty soon, too.”

“I’ll catch you when you land, Flash. Just don’t take too much time, because I’m already there, impatiently waiting for you.”

This had some pretty comical moments. I thought the narrators were great. The story/writing was good. The girl was quirky, but the guy loved her and appreciated her personality. It was a cute story.

Am a fan of Alexander Cendese, narrator. This book needed to be abridged! Author was too wordy. Required 1.8 speed to move thru the dull parts. I liked the story, however, so finished it.

I loved the banter and interactions between Zoe and Dylan. Their conversations were hilarious and it was so cute how quirky Zoe was around Dylan. The narration added that something extra to the story. This was a perfect slow burn friends to lovers romance!!!

The Hardest Fall by Ella Maise is a MUST read/listen, and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!

Zoe is so awkward is adorable!!!
Dylan had me when he said he was one woman man ❤ and I think that was in his first POV.

The Story is really good. Enjoyed it the only thing I didn’t enjoy was the male reader speaking the parts of the female character. Reminds me of a typical mean girl.
