About this audiobook
With Passions of a Wicked Earl, USA Today and New York Times bestseller Lorraine Heath kicks off a new series of delightfully sinful historical romance novels featuring "London's Greatest Lovers." The first romantic adventure involving the titled and rakish sons of a scandalous Dowager Duchess and their tales of passion, pleasure, and love, Passions of a Wicked Earl concerns the innocent and unfairly disgraced young wife of the first brother and her brazen attempts to win back the dashing rogue's heart…by any means necessary!
Lorraine Heath
Lorraine Heath always dreamed of being a writer. After graduating from the University of Texas, she wrote training manuals, press releases, articles, and computer code, but something was always missing. When she read a romance novel, she not only became hooked on the genre, but quickly realized what her writing lacked: rebels, scoundrels, and rogues. She’s been writing about them ever since. Her novels have been recognized with numerous industry awards and have appeared on the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5PASSIONS OF A WICKED EARL by Lorraine Heath is a wonderful exciting historical romance set in 1853 London. It is the beginning of a new series "The Notorious Gentlemen".It is well written with depth, details, fast paced and page turning. It has romance, suspense, sweet sensuality, family, misunderstandings, fear, trust issues, pride, responsibility, bad judgment, betrayal, deceit, and love. The hero, Morgan, the Earl of Westcliffe, is handsome, a cad, wicked, has a quick temper, and has a wife he exiled to his country estate three years earlier for her betrayal on their wedding night. He is the oldest of three brothers. One of which is by his step father and is also a titled Duke. The heroine, Claire, is beautiful, naive, marries young, innocent, laughs often, makes a bad judgment call on her wedding night, returns fully grown and determined to make Morgan, her estranged husband, love her again. Claire, was married at a young age, and terrified of her wedding night, for she feared Morgan. They where betrothed before Claire was even born. She grow up around him and his brothers, but didn't know him. Morgan felt he had responsibilities, for his father had died and he didn't have time for play and fun. But he had always noticed the young Claire. On their wedding night, young Stephan, Morgan's youngest brother and friend to Claire finds her crying in her bedchamber. She tells him she is terrified of her wedding night, so he decides to help him. He jumps into bed with her, while fully clothed, when Morgan comes to the bedchamber and finds them. Morgan's temper flies. He doesn't listen to anything either has to say, especially Claire. He sends her to his country estate. She stays their for three years, fixing up the estate. Until her younger sister needs a Season in London. Then she goes to Morgan for his help in presenting her to society. Claire has heard of his infidelities, while she has had none, she is still a virgin, but is determined to make their marriage work. After three years she has grown up and become a beautiful, self assured woman. Sparks fly between Claire and Morgan for she is no longer the scared young lady of him and can stand up for herself. In the meantime, Morgan's mistress, can't stand to lose him and she knows she is. She creates trouble between them and once again Morgan will not listen to Claire, and she is carted off to the country estate where tragedy happens. Claire and Morgan learn to trust one another again and Morgan learns he does have a heart and is capable of love after all. I would recommend this book especially if you enjoy Regency England, the twists and turns of life, the joy of being loved and the complex relationship between husband and wife. This book was received from Net Galley for review and details can be found a Harper Collins Publishers and My Book Addiction and More.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good story with engaging characters. Silly and unnecessary little melodrama at the end.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5this was OK. not fantastic, but it didn't suck. which is good. it just didn't seem to stand out in the crowd. perhaps I was spoiled by the last historical romance I read, which I loved. it's happened before...
anyway, claire married westcliffe when she was 17 and he 25 (ew). unfortunately she was terrified of him so schemed with his brother to delay the marriage bed. a plan that doesn't work the way they expect. fast forward a number of years and claire needs westcliffe's help. her sister is in the same situation she was, only she has a chance, a season. but in order for it to work claire and westcliffe must show a unified front. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Morgan Lyons, Earl of Westcliffe, after finding his bride in the arms of his brother, can't forgive her, and banishes her to the country estate, then he settles in England, a conossiur of woman alike. He has never been able to forgive or forget the one night, that should have been theirs. Claire Lyons, having been bethrothed to Morgan knowing that she would end up married to him, but never spent time with him before they got married, was afraid of him. So when his brother offered a way that would give her time before having to give her body to the Earl, she agreed being a little drunk, but not knowing what it would entailed. After the fact, she fully regrets it, and stays at the country estate, managing it as well as any man, but when her sister is of age, she goes to England to reconcile with her enstranged husband and to put her sister out into society. But seeing Morgan again, and after sharing a passionate kiss with him, she sets her out to seduce him and win him back to her side forever, to have his love and non other. I truly loved reading Passions of a Wicked Earl, it was such a engaging and warm read, that had me aching for more but yet leaving me fully satisfied at the end. We see Morgan, who had planned at the beginning to keep true to his vows, but after seeing his brother holding his wife, never mind that both had their clothes on, he feels betrayel stab to his heart, and vows to never forgive her or forget that horrible night, where he knows their marriage is a farce. However when she returns to London, he knows he can never trust her, however passions ignite between the two, and he starts wondering if he should have listened to her all those years ago, and should he trust in her again, or will he only be betrayed once more? Both Morgan and Claire find a love benetah all the mistrust and betrayal, where they learn to trust with full hearts. Passions of a Wicked Earl is one of my favorite romances written by this author so far, it had such a emotional twist to it that went to the heart of this reader, definitely looking forward to reading the sequel in this wonderful series.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This author is normally good to great but this one was disappointing. The hero was TDTL, the issue is a misunderstandings and pride. The heroine is way too understanding and a doormat. The hero did not grovel any where near enough, or at all. The villain is just cliche and anti women. Avoid. Read lord of scoundrels or Mr impossible
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This has become one of my favorite historical romance books. It fits the formula, but there are differences to your run of the mill HR.1) The prologue actually serves the correct purpose of a prologue!! I’m usually not a prologue fan, but this one gave one scene from the past that sets the stage for the beginning of the book. It worked.2) From the get go, tension fills the air. The author sets the stage of a prolific earl in the room of his current lover, but before he leaves we see his “real love” is still on his mind. Nice foreshadowing here.3) We don’t wait long for the conflict of the story to begin. Good thing about this is the whole book is about these two coming to terms a misunderstanding from 3 years past and both wanting the other. Granted, pride is in the way, of course. The bad part of this is I felt awful for most of the book! lol I really liked these characters and loved watching them evolve with revelations of each other, etc. But, really wanting them to get together and the obstacles that get in the way could drive a reader crazy. A slow, steady dread in my stomach resided for most of the book. 4) I am SO THANKFUL the writer does not have the earl continuing to have sex with women when his wife comes back. Even though there is a lot to figure out between them and he wants a divorce, you KNOW in a romance there will be a happy ending. I hate it when the man still has relations with someone else until “all” is resolved.5) The villain in this book, the jilted lover, is truly a villain. She’s not just a jealous lover…nope; this lady has more up her sleeve than I am use to in a HR. She doesn’t quit! This book fits the historical romance formula for fans to be appeased, but it also adds more tension, more intrigue, more heartbreak, and joy than usual. I very much enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to romance fans.
