- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5First of all, I would like to thank the author for sharing her story. There is an excerpt in the book that says, what good does it do to experience something good and keep it to yourself(paraphrase taken). I would like to say to someone that might see this book and judge it by the title, I would admonish you not too!! The title could be substituted for a number of titles, how about Alcoholic Girl or Adulteress Girl. The emphasis of the book is that, no matter what you are struggling with, God is a Good God, He is our source. Thank you Jackie Hill Perry, for spreading the Good News!!!!! I recommend this book to anyone who has ever had an issue and does not know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!! Amen!!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Written as a testimony of God’s wonderful and powerful grace in her life, Gay Girl, Good God gives insight into the identity crisis all unbelievers are in. One, in which the devil’s lies and our sins define us, in which these lies dictate to us what love is and how to be loved, in which we turn to our twisted selves and others like us for a twisted version of love instead of the Creator of true love, in whose light all other loves are like death.
Jackie writes her testimony beautifully, intertwining the gospel story into her life story most naturally. Her words visibly show the total depravity of all history, all humanity, and all of our souls, in desperate need of God to save them.
Now, you may ask, what about the topic of homosexuality? Is Jackie homophobic?
Listening to the book back to back, listening intently until the end, you will experience Jackie’s love for the LGBTQ+ community exuding from her words. Does she say things that will “offend”you and me? Yes! Does she bluntly use scripture’s words on sexual purity? She definitely does not try to twist and bend it to fit it into our deadly comfort zone.
But through her loving, straightforward words, she will tell you about the most beautiful, most grand enjoyment in all of universe. Through her loving understanding, she bears the image of her loving and understanding God. Jackie’s words are as far from homophobic as can be, since they sincerely care about You and care even more about giving glory to the one, gracious, loving and righteous throne of God before whom you and her will one day stand.2 people found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I recommend this book to every Christian. I don’t struggle with homosexuality however I too have placed things above God’s love. I gained new perspective I pray to use to help another struggling believer and non-believer.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If I could give this a higher rating than a 5star I would. But not only would I do that if I could, I would also give this book to every single person alive!! No matter what has brought you to this book, I can tell you that you will walk away changed & impacted from this book. Not only is it Jackie telling her story & sharing her testimony in such beautiful poetry, but it’s also the Gospel of Jesus retold in a tangible & real way.
As I read this book, I kept thinking to myself “this is me! She’s writing about me too.” Whether you have that experience or even know what it’s like to walk this road of same sex attraction, this is a worthwhile read for anyone!2 people found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It is hard to write a review for a book you love so much, that is full of truth and eloquently, poetically written. Never could I do it justice with my feeble words. But let me say this: this is a book for everyone. It is not primarily about sexuality, but about sin and truth, redemption and the beautiful Christ. Jackie Hill Perry reminds us that we can't find deliverance from sin merely by understanding it is sin, but by understanding its deceptive nature and the glorious, all-surpassing joy that is to be found in our creator. But she not only says it, she shows you. I seldomly have found so much scripture in one book. Jackie combines all kinds of verses and bible stories to make truth known to the reader. To make Jesus known. Because it is him we will enjoy forever.
I also loved that you get a glimpse into what life is like for a gay Christian. I think the christian community has failed to understand their battle and failed to love them properly. The book is a good reminder that struggles with same-sex attraction are not different from the temptations non-gay people experience. But it is also a temptation some homosexuals have to war against all their lives. Heterosexuality and marriage are not the answer to this, as some christians have suggested. For some it is a possibility, but it can not be the reason why they come to faith. But Jesus is the answer. He will always be enough and more. He is the reason why everyone of us can say 'No' to sin and 'Yes' to sanctification. Let's take this book and learn something from it. Let's read it and love the LGBT community better, always showing them that Christ is more.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book arrived in my life at a point where I needed it desperately. I'm not gay, nor have I ever been, but a Christian girl who has struggled with identity and sexual immorality for a very long time. On and off sin has come knocking on my door and I've let it in only to be left ashamed and broken. This book spoke so much truth and love into my life I can honestly say I'm not the same.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hearing an intimate revelation of how God can draw us to Him through His Word and the Love of His children toward each other.
Getting a deeper understanding that out ultimate goal is to be married to Him which ultimately will direct us to loving what He has commanded. The pull toward sin is real; not only sexual sin but all including those we fail to recognize. Thank you Jackie Hill Perry for sharing your soul with us!!!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really appreciated this book. As a heterosexual Christian it’s really hard to know how to witness to the LGBTQ community without taking the focus away from Christ and making it about the issues. I thought this book was really insightful and it helps enormously to have input from someone who has actually experienced the whole process.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wish I had this book eight years ago and also in high school. Although I’m heterosexual, this book would have given me truths that I needed to hear, when it came to relationships in general. It’s also the perfect book, for single people. God is the treasure we should be seeking at all times....

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very well-written book. This book is not solely about same-sex attraction; the overarching message is about finding our identity in Christ. Jackie Hill Perry‘s poetic yet easy to read writing style, along with her humble confidence in and high view of God, invite the reader to let go of the inadequate substitutes this world offers and embrace an authentic intimacy with and joy in God. I highly recommend it for anyone.
