About this audiobook

A brand new romantic comedy from New York Times bestseller Tessa Bailey!

Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a Woman of the World... whatever that means.

Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)

Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (fyi, leggings are pants.)

Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)

Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)

Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite.

Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there's Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme—that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job—he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real. But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her...

The narrator Charlotte North is absolutely wonderful. I’ll be looking out for her in future. This was a light, laugh out loud story full of feels. I absolutely loved it.

After reading "False Witness" by Karin Slaughter, seeing "Baby Girl" was very off-putting. Besides that, there were also some male dominated implications that were not my favorite.

On a side note, I listed to the audio book and I didn't care for the way the narrator read for Travis, maybe with a different tone it wouldn't have come across as so gruff, although some of the words used for him, maybe that was intended?

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This was my first time reading Tessa Bailey and definitely will not be the last. Travis and Georgie's story left me wanting more long after I finished it. I would 10/10 definitely recommend!

I was after a basic hate to love narrative however the male lead in the gave me the creeps. During the sex parts (most of the book) he calls her ‘baby girl’ which feels quite cringey/creepy and also the plot line wasn’t particularly strong so I definitely wasn’t invested in any of the characters!

So good! Funny, spicy and a good story. Even if you think you know how it ends it’s a good read/listen

Super enjoyable. It’s kind of predictable, but that’s everything I want out of a romcom. Plus, Tessa Bailey has a knack for spice!

I could barely get through this. Can we please get strong women who aren’t virgins and fall for the first guy they have sex with. So disappointing.

In general, I liked the storyline and the characters and all that. It just makes me really uncomfortable when a person calls their lover things like “daddy” or “baby girl”. I don’t think these should be sexualized terms. And Travis almost exclusively calls Georgie, a woman who has issues with her family and clients not seeing her as an adult, “baby girl”. That may have been meant to be ironic but I just found it gross.

I liked the story. But I feel that Dale should/could have had more scenes, and also the ending was too fast, felt like "wam bam, thank you ma'am"
But I still love it. I just want more. Mr. and Mrs. Ford with their family.

Lots of steamy scenes, likeable characters. The conflict wasn’t strong enough imho. Very predictable but still enjoyable read.

Aggressively disliked this book. The main character was obnoxious and complained about problems/dynamics that she actively participated in creating for herself. Did not finish.

I really enjoyed this the banter, slow burn hot sext dirty talk, the sex scenes we're good., But the last hour 20 minutes I got borad... I would have like a prologue of them 6 years later... I think the ending was rushed.

2nd time listening…. HEA , LOVED THE DIRTY TALK OHHHH MYYY!!!! Yum! I’m satisfied with the ending, but still would like an update…. But I’m pretty sure with the other books we might see more of this couple fingers crossed .

1st I NEED this book in a live version, I need to see these characters come alive before my eyes so I can relive it all over again.
God I knew that I would be laughing, crying and cursing reading this book and sure enough I was…. Currently I am really tempted to just restart it again just so I can go through it again… but alas there is 2 more books to this series of which are currently downloading to my device.
If this doesn’t persuade you to pick it up or even better listen to the audiobook then I don’t know what to do.

Storyline was sweet yet as chapters progressed it seemed like author wrote a story and then went back and edited in anything having to do with s*x that she could conceive. Most of it truly felt added in and rather forced into the plot. Good grief. I almost made it to the midway point before skipping to final chapter to see how author ended story. I doubt I’ll look into other books by this author.

Wow. It was like a Hallmark movie. If Hallmark movies were allowed to be HOT AF, instead of just super sweet. I'm about to chase down everything scribd has from this author, and then do the same for the narrator. I loved her voice. I loved the writing. How flawed and real they all were.

Book was ruined by the extremely unlikeable, one dimensional main male character who behaved like a 16-year-old boy. And by the constant use of the term baby girl.

I don't do DNF so often but I just couldn't finish it. Travis is the worst love interest in my romance reading history I've read about. Didn't vibe with the story. Don't want to spoil something so I leave it like this.

i am still confused by the age gap between travis and georgie? and why she becomes his “saving light”?

i think bethany (a side character) is more interesting than the main character.

this is the miscommunication trope (and fake dating) and i just don’t think it’s good. it’s just lack luster
