About this audiobook

Every storm they've weathered . . . has led them to each other

Dan Amos lost his wife and son years ago, when they inadvertently got in the way of a death threat meant for him. He's never had eyes for anyone since, and he doesn't want to. But fellow Blessings resident Alice Conroy sparks something inside him . . .

Newly widowed, Alice was disillusioned by marriage and isn't looking to fall in love anytime soon. Then a tropical storm blazes a path straight for the Georgia coast, and as the town prepares for the worst, Dan opens his heart and his home. The tempest is raging, but Alice and Dan are learning to find shelter . . . in each other.

Sharon Sala

With over fifty books in print, award-winning author Sharon Sala, who also writes as Dinah McCall, still has to remind herself from time to time that this isn''t a dream. She learned to read at the age of four and has had her nose in a book ever since. Her introduction into romance came at an early age through the stories of Zane Gray, Grace Livingston Hill and Emily Loring. Her pride in contributing to the genre is echoed by the letters of her fans. She''s a four-time RITA finalist, Winner of the Janet Dailey Award, three-time Career Achievement winner from Romantic Times magazine, four-time winner of the National Reader''s Choice Award and five-time winner of the Colorado Romance Writer''s Award of Excellence, as well as numerous other industry awards. Her books are regularly on bestseller lists, such as the New York Times extended list, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Waldenbooks mass market, and many others. She claims that, for her, learning to read was a matter of evolution, but learning to write and then being published was a revolution. It changed her life, her world and her fate.

Forever My Hero is really the story of Dan & Alice. There are some other secondary stories but the main thread is how their pasts are similar & how they come together. I love that they both are in the same place in life when they meet. They both have experienced tragedies that have deprived them of loved ones but they are past the worst of the grief & ready to love again. Patty & Charlie, Alice’s children, add another dimension to the story and it was wonderful that they were able to accept Dan into their lives before everything became serious. The trouble that Patty had at school was a perfect teacher by point & really illustrated our society today. Gossip is seldom based in truth & shouldn’t be relied on as such. Throw in some crime, a hurricane, injuries to loved ones & you have a fast paced story that keeps your attention throughout.
