About this audiobook

They say there's no rest for the wicked, and New Orleans never knew how true that was until I came to town.

Nobody told me that when I entered the transition, the very gifts of my demonic lineage would be used against me. Nobody warned me that the flames of Hell would burn from within. Or that I'd be driven to lust and madness, my chaotic magic becoming more wild and unruly than ever before.

The only way to save myself-and the world-was to give the beast what she wanted: control.

As if transitioning wasn't enough, my presence was now known, and my enemies were mounting. While the beast was intent on claiming our Four Horsemen, there were things to be done. People to find. Demons to kill.

And when they make a deal with the devil-let's just say that neither world will ever be the same again.

Long live the Queen.

If I can survive becoming immortal, that is.

Contains mature themes.

I was happy overall with book 3 of Kel's Queen of the Damned series, some things made me smile and I couldn't stop listening, some things kinda threw me and took me out of the story. I think Ruby and Julian frustrated me the most in this book to be honest. I think the stress with transitioning made it hard on everyone, but when the guys didnt trust her/ignored her and Ruby and the beast subsequently kept running away, it was a tad annoying/frustrating. I thought the sexy times was great, besides some of the things Julian did (I knew he would be more of a Dom, based on his control in previous books, but it wasn't as smooth as I would have hoped). I loved the others in this and it hurt my heart with what Julian had to do to find Ruby and the beast (definitely put him back on my good side after all his bs from other books haha). I was again fascinated by the relationship between Ruby and Moira and Ruby and Bandit. I thought there were some good jokes and snark in this one too, I appreciate Kel kept that going throughout the series. The progression with the plot was sorta out of left field for me, it makes more sense in book 4 but I was kinda taken aback in this one with it.

Narration was good with some of the new characters we meet, but again the Aussie/Brit accent changes kept throwing me. I did think Hollie did a phenomenal job with all the tension, angst, feelings of love, heartache. 4/5 stars for the narration.

Ok, on to book 4! I really hope Kel comes back to this world at some point, I think it could be a lot of fun with all the side characters and additional storylines she could build off of, with some cameos hopefully ??❤️
