- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Political brainwashing disguised as education. It should be neutral when it comes to politics.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I rate this book low on the basis that it does not live up to its title (in my opinion). This is an 11-hour overview or exercise in the contextualization of critical thinking within the larger scheme of thinking in general. I read this book because I wanted a comprehensive and practical onramp to learning logic and reason, evaluating the form and strength of argument and a guide to distinguishing between and evaluating facts and opinions. This book simply does not do this and takes a long time not doing it. Perhaps I was wrong to expect it to do that or was to dim to recognise that it was, in fact, doing so in some grand fashion, irrespective, I thought that is what "for dummies" guides are about. I give it credit for being interesting and for giving valuable nuggets along the way.
