About this audiobook

On their first date back in law school, Natalie and Will Clarke bonded over drinks, dinner and whether they could get away with murder. Now married, they’ll put the latter to the test when an unchecked danger in their community places their son in jeopardy. Working as a criminal defense attorney, Nat refuses to rely on the broken legal system to keep her family safe. She knows that if you want justice…you have to get it yourself.
Shocked to discover Nat’s taken matters into her own hands, Will has no choice but to dirty his, also. His family is in way too deep to back down now. He’s just not sure he recognizes the woman he married. Nat’s always been fiercely protective, but never this ruthless or calculating. With the police poking holes in their airtight plan, what will be the first to fall apart: their scandalous secret—or their marriage?

That was excellent, I both liked, loved and hated all the main characters. The characters were well designed, and you don’t ever mess with Mother or a Scorned Woman...

Pretty good listen/read, story get down and deep. Kinda didn't like the ending but kinda did.

For the whole book I thought for sure how I just knew how it was going to end and it infuriated me that a book could be so transparent! But much to my excitement, I was so wrong!

Enjoyed so much more than I thought, my recommendation is to go blindly and enjoy the ride.
Just a heads up if you’re sensitive reader you really need to check the trigger warnings for this one.

Really good! I could definitely empathize with one of the main characters from a mother pov.

Natalie, a criminal defense attorney, discovers that her 11-year-old son is in jeopardy after an unchecked danger in her community threatens to harm him. She decides to fight back by taking matters into her own hands instead of relying on the broken legal system. She believes she's smart and knowledgeable enough to pull off the perfect murder and so plans her revenge. But despite all her planning, she's forced to rely on her husband, Will to help her cover up the crime when things go wrong. But all the plotting falls to pieces as police uncover scandalous secrets and gaping holes in the couple's airtight plan.

My top three thoughts 'For Better and Worse':
    1. I'm always up for a quick thriller and that's what this one is. It moves fast through plenty of clichés and doesn't bother focusing on characters. Perhaps this is a good thing since Will is such a terribly hard to like character. His behavior really makes it seem like he doesn't care for Natalie who he's supposed to be committing a crime with. He's a liar who's hateful, petty and egotistical.
    2. I appreciate that Hunt didn't get into the details of what kind of harm the child was in. This book would have taken a completely different tone. The focus of the book was more on the act of covering up a crime and manipulating the system.
    3. The ending of the book is really quick and it almost felt like a forced conclusion. The book itself is forgettable but does make for good mindless reading.
