About this audiobook
What is transgender and gender fluidity? What does God's Word actually say about these issues? How can the gospel be good news for someone experiencing gender dysphoria? How should churches respond? This warm, faithful and careful book helps Christians understand what the Bible says about gender identity. It will help us to engage lovingly, thoughtfully and faithfully with one of the most explosive cultural discussions of our day. If you want to learn more and love better, and are open to considering what God has to say about sex and gender, this hope-filled book is for you. Includes a section looking at practical questions including: - Can someone be transgender and Christian? - Should I mind if people who are biologically the other sex are in my restroom? - What should church leaders do if a congregation member asks for their child to be identified as the opposite gender? - Is it true that Christian teaching is harmful and can lead to depression and higher suicide rates? - What about people who are born intersex?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A unique and yet biblical approach to the debate of homosexuality.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I found this book quite helpful to aid my understanding of the extraordinary public focus & debate over the past few years in relation to boys wanting to be girls, and girls wanting to be boys. This book interprets the phenomenon from a Christian (New Testament) perspective. Should “gender dysphoria” in our children, promoted by social media, be affirmed by a loving and Bible-believing Christian mother and father? This book would be helpful for such a parent seeking moral and ethical guidance. By the same token, “life dysphoria” is a phenomena in some boys and girls who experience unsolvable problems and fears in their mind. The symptom of “life dysphoria” is suicidal ideation. Should parents be obliged to “affirm” life dysphoria in the same way that the modern atheistic LGBT rights movement oblige parents to “affirm” gender dysphoria? Should parents then seek help from the modern medical and psychiatric profession to “transition” their child from life to non-life, in order to solve the unbearable pain of life dysphoria? In this respect, the moral complexity of dealing with gender dysphoria is equivalent to the moral complexity of dealing with issues like suicide, euthanasia and abortion. These moral issues are difficult for a human to work out from scratch. That is where the moral truths embedded in the scriptures particularly the New Testament can be helpful. This book does a superb job in my opinion in interpreting the recent phenomenon and social contagion of gender dysphoria from a Christian (New Testament) perspective.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Answers very sensitive questions for both the transgender and the non transgender. Both are people and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent presentation of the gospel and how it intersects with the transgender issue. Walker carefully dissects many of the issues, and is thoughtful to provide some quick and short answers to common questions as well. At a little over 160 pages plus appendix/glossary, this is a nicely sized look at what and how Christians should, and often actually do, respond to this issue and the people who are considering/have chosen some form of transgender identity. Very useful and helpful.
