Visualization, open heart, wildly linguistic - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This wasn’t bad, but I don’t think Lambert’s medium is poetry. It would probably work better as prose or some kind of personal essay collection.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The emotions I felt while listening to this audiobook was intense.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow, this was a journey, I love it and I can't stop crying right now
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is an amazing piece. It will provoke your mindset in different ways. The soothing backgorund music just adds to the goodness of it page by page
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is too emotional. I never thought Mary Lambert went through any of this. Some poems are sad, some poems are relatable, all of them are real and deep.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I had no idea who Mary Lambert was, now I know, and I started this book because I was interested in poetry. It’s rare I rate five stars poetry books by young authors because often they are so repetitive in their descriptions of love. This book gets my five stars because it’s poignant, it’s direct, sincere and especially is bold. I often found d myself with my mouth open or crying and lifted up and down inward inside
myself. It’s beautifully written and read by the author who I thank with all my gratitude for the redemption of her life and for her art. I especially enjoyed the first and the last part, where she describes even her life as a famous person straight on without censorship. Thank you Mary Lambert I’m proud of you and of your work. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Raw, moving journey through pain, love and acceptance with lavish words accompanied by beautiful, soft instrumental music. This is a whole mood, snuggle up with a cup of tea or glass of wine and listen to Mary's soothing voice tell her life tales through poetry, which happen to be relatable to many people. I cried, I laughed, I smiled and I felt deeply.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. The entire book is so relevant and honestly needs to be read by everyone. It’s heartbreaking and honest yet stunning.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It made me feel so much. I’d never been able to really connect at an emotional level to stories of abuse and mental illness before, but this was so strong that I sometimes had to stop listening because it was affecting me too much.
Having it read by the author, as usual, is an incredible experience. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a whole experience and it hit me hard. Loved it. Loved the music added. Just wholesome.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The original music in this behind the poems really made this audiobook. I can see how this style of poetry would not be for everyone, but Lambert is raw and honest and vulnerable in this collection, embracing both the beautiful and ugly parts of being human
