About this audiobook
Three women. One daring mission.
1946. One morning while passing through Grand Central Terminal, Grace Healey finds an abandoned suitcase tucked beneath a bench. Inside is a dozen photographs—each of a different woman. Grace soon learns that the suitcase belonged to Eleanor Trigg, leader of a network of female secret agents deployed out of London during the war. Twelve of these women were sent to Occupied Europe as couriers and radio operators to aid the resistance, but they never returned home.
Setting out to learn the truth behind the women in the photographs, Grace finds herself drawn to a young mother turned agent named Marie, whose mission overseas reveals a remarkable story of friendship, valor and betrayal. In this riveting story inspired by true events, Pam Jenoff weaves a tale of courage, sisterhood and the great strength of women to survive in the hardest of circumstances.
Don’t miss Pam Jenoff’s new novel, Code Name Sapphire, a riveting tale of bravery and resistance during World War II.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'm not a huge history buff, due to other reviews I guess times are inaccurate. But it's a story. I liked it, it got me out of my head. Gave me something to get wrapped up in. I can kind of where it ended abruptly kind of. But it's just a fun intetesting story. Just enjoy it. Fun characters, it makes me want to learn more about that time and what the girls did.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Basically a romance novel set against the backdrop of WWll. The historical perspective was interesting. The story line was slow and shallow.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Astoundingly marvellous!
The writing and narration really brought the book’s characters to life. Incredibly moving, I listen through my headphones and couldn’t stop until it was finished. Great narration too. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The uniquely telling of it through two very interesting concepts. It kept my interest throughout. Will recommend to fellow readers.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Too many silly conveniences to move the story, unconvincing romantic developments, melodrama... and possibly worst of all is that two of three narrators of this audiobook are over the top irritating. The book isn’t even written in first person, for any of the characters, so there was no need for them. Put this one at the very bottom of your “women in WWII” TBR pile, or give it a miss completely.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved the story. Well told about a time in history whose memory is quickly fading.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Very boring just gave up. I have heard about the lady French spy's. They were smart and courageous This bookmade Marie seem like an incompetent idiot.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved the story! I would have rated it 5 stars, but I couldn't stand the narrator for Grace. Her voice was so gravelly and she constantly used upspeak!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was great read. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading something else from this author.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Such a disappointment. A key? A hand grenade? Too unbelievable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Incredible book! Suspenseful and heart-wrenching, as well as informative. I felt I could see and experience every scene. Well done!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you love historical stories , it’s for you . I liked that it was narrated by two women. It’s a light audio that you will enjoy .
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I hung onto every word. Such a winding plot that takes u in different directions. May be a fictional story but felt real all the way through.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was a decent book but the storyline was contrived and the characters lacked depth. It kept me interested enough to finish it, but it’s not a favorite.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved it so much. Great book I still can’t get it out of my mind.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Interesting story, though a little lacking in depth. Would have been much more interesting to have deeper storylines into the female spies while actually working in occupied France. The real problem I had was with one of the readers for the audio book. There are 3 readers for 3 main characters, the woman reading for Elenoar sounds like she's reading for Penthouse letters. Obscenely breathy and places way to much drama into her voice which is not necessary. Obviously the reader for an audio book is almost as important as the book itself and they really missed the mark with this reader.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the 5th audio book of Ms. Jenoff’s that I’ve had the honor to read. It’s an excellent piece of historical fiction and it led me to research more about the female SOE agents.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story itself was interesting although at many times lacking the details of the characters that could have pushed it through to the next level. It is a big picture story without the details so while an important story not truly memorable. There was a ton of opportunities to develop the characters that were missed. Also, as an audiobook the American’s (Grace) voice was nasal and annoying to listen to almost to the point of not being able to stand it. I wish I had read it myself instead of listening to it as she may have been more likable.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I tried twice but I couldn't finish it. The first two readers are so irritating that I didn't even make it to the third character. Grace sounds like Marge Simpson and Eleanor's voice is so breathy I couldn't take her serious. The performances ruined the book for me.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5nice, however the characters are not very developed and the ending seemed to be written in a rush
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another gem by @PamJenoff!! Love her historical fiction w/ developed, fierce, immensely human female badasses!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tears in my eyes listening to this intense drama.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very captivating story. Great performance. I couldn't put it aside until I had found the truth . Highly recommend.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved it; not a new absolute favorite but definitely a good read! It’s the kind of book that makes you want to cuddle up under a blank with a hot drink. It’s definitely one of those books that is hard to put down.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A little slow moving at the beginning but it picked up pace a third of the way and made me want to get to the end.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The characters are so relatable you can feel yourself getting swept up in this wonderful story!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love historical fiction- I read “Orphan Train “ and enjoy this author.
