About this audiobook

As a forensic genealogist, Willow Anderson is following in her late grandfather's footsteps in her quest for answers about a baby abducted from the hospital more than twenty years ago. The case may be cold, but things are about to heat up when someone makes an attempt on her life to keep her from discovering the truth. Ex-FBI agent--and Willow's ex-flame--Austin McKade readily offers his help to protect the woman he never should have let get away. Together they'll follow where the clues lead them, even if it means Austin must face the past he's spent much of his life trying to forget. And even if it puts Willow's tender heart at risk. In this fast-paced and emotional page-turner, bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard keeps the stakes high, the romantic tension sparking, and the outcome uncertain until the very end.

A complex mystery. Felt like the romance was a little melodramatic for my taste but not bad. The narrator mispronounced a couple words (riffle and chasm) which I was surprised got by editors.

This is the first novel I have read by Elizabeth Goddard and it definitely won't be the last. Never let Go is the first in the Uncommon Justice series. One of the most interesting parts of the story to me was the fact that Willow, the main character, was a forensic genealogist. I was not aware of such a career so I found that quite fascinating. After her grandfather dies, Willow takes on one of his cases which involved finding the missing child of a woman who was dying. Her dream was to meet the daughter who had gone missing from the hospital right after she was born twenty-one years ago. This case definitely had it's challenges and through a series of page-turning events, it became quite obvious someone did not want Willow to track down this missing person and was willing to do whatever it took to keep Willow from finding the answers she was looking for. In addition to the edge of your seat suspense, the story came with romance as well. Austin, Willow's ex boyfriend, is the person who ends up helping her search for the missing girl. Can they move past the past to have a future together and will they find the missing girl in time? You'll have to read to find out.I was given a copy of this novel from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I won this book from the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program. I love getting books from programs like that because I get introduced to many new authors I might not otherwise try. Elizabeth Goddard is one of those authors. Never Let Go is a romantic-suspense novel that grabs you on the first pages and keeps building throughout the entire book. The characters are well developed, the setting is awesomely gorgeous, and the plot is well done. I hope to read more by this talented author.

I received this book as an advanced copy from the author. I really wanted to give the book 5 stars but the beginning was a little difficult for me. At the beginning of the story when Austin and Willow first come back together the author lets you know what each of them is thinking or feeling about the other through their thoughts. It isn't that I thought that was a bad thing I only felt that the amount of time that it was done and also the times the thoughts were projected into the story were awkward. After that I felt the story really picked up and was an awesome page-turner. The suspense was enough to keep me wanting to on edge and always guessing what would happen next. Although I did finally figure out how everything was connected it wasn't until the very end so I would have to give this book 5 stars for its suspense and the ability to keep you guessing. I was glad to see that there might be a sequel to this story. I would definitely look forward to reading it. Overall and excellent read once you get started and an excellent ending. Great Job.

An intriguing storyline, yet it started a little slow. I was glad I continued reading because "Never Let Go" was an enjoyable summer read filled with suspense, romance, and mystery.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It sucked me right in and I was invested in what was happening around Willow. The writing is interesting without being overly wordy. I struggled to like Dana and felt like I would've enjoyed more of Austin and Willow's backstory earlier in the book but the book still worked and I will reading any future books that might be released. There was plenty of excitement in this book and just enough faith to see that the main characters were believers and trying to live Godly lives. Highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys a mystery, romance and a reminder that God matters when they are reading fiction. If you aren't a believer their faith isn't overwhelming, just a part of who they are and some of their decisions and could definitely be enjoyed by non believers. I received this from early reviewers in exchange for an honest review.

Never Let Go is the first novel in Elizabeth Goddard's Uncommon Justice series. As expected, this book is built around a mystery that kept me guessing until the end. I love it when I don't know who the villian is until the moment he or she is revealed! The mystery aspect carried the weight of the story from beginning to end. The romance between Austin and Willow started out brilliantly. The tension and questions about their past relationship were intriguing at first. Unfortunately, the romantic tension started to fizzle out less than halfway through. Sure, there were still unresolved feelings and things to be communicated, but it lost some of its zap. I think if there had been deeper character development, maybe that would have made their relationship more enticing, but as it was, their thoughts and desires felt a bit repetitive. The strength of Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard lies in its mystery narrative and ability to keep the reader guessing. If you have enjoyed previous books by this author, you might enjoy Never Let Go. Wow, this book hooked me from the very beginning and didn’t let up until the last page. This is the first book I have read from Elizabeth Goddard, but I can tell you it will not be my last. The writing was amazing. I was able to get so absorbed in the story that I forgot everything else around me. When I had to put the book down for something, it took me a minute to re-acclimate myself. I am so glad that this is the first book in a new series. I was not ready to let these characters go at the end of this book. I cannot wait for the next book! Recommendation: I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Suspense. *Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of the book mentioned above in the hope that I would review it on my blog. This book took forever to get to me, but I'm glad it did. I had never heard of Elizabeth Goddard before, but I am paying attention now. Her new book, Never Let Go, is a fast paced, heart pumping race all the way to the end. The writing is good, the characters are likable, and the plot line is excellent.Elizabeth Goddard writes with the same intensity as other Christian suspense authors such as Dani Pettrey, Lynette Eason and Irene Hannon. The story begins with Willow taking on one of her grandfather's missing persons cases after he tragically dies. As soon as she begins to investigate the missing girl, bad things seem to follow her everywhere. A former flame, Austin McCade, is hired to help protect her from an invisible antagonist intent on silencing anyone digging into the past.I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Christian suspense without the gore and light on romance.

Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Uncommon Justice series. Willow Anderson is a Forensic Genealogist following in her grandfather’s footsteps. Trying to solve a twenty-year-old cold case puts her life in jeopardy. Ex-FBI agent, Austin McKade offers to protect and help Willow in her search for answers. From the heart-wrenching open scene to the climatic last page the author kept you turning the page for more. I didn’t want the story to end; even though I stayed up way too late finishing it! I can’t wait for the next installment. I loved how Willow wanted/needed answers from Austin but she didn’t push him. She gave him space to talk when he was ready. I would highly recommend this book.I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I think I have found another go-to romantic suspense author! Elizabeth Goddard was new-to-me before I picked up Never Let Go, book 1 in the Uncommon Justice series, but I am excited to find more great reads from her. This book kept me guessing until the end, not an easy feat since I am a voracious reader of this genre. It really is hard to surprise me. But the twists and turns of this novel really kept me on my toes. If you love a suspenseful book, this one is for you.Main character Willow has a very unusual job — forensic genealogist. I had never heard of this, but I was intrigued. Usually Willow finds lost heirs or missing branches of a family tree, but after the death of her business partner/grandfather, she is determined to solve a cold case child abduction he committed to. Joining her in the investigation is ex-boyfriend and ex-FBI agent Austin. Austin harbors secrets of his own past that have kept the two apart. The two battle increasing danger and their attraction. I loved these characters — so very real in their flaws and struggles. I also loved the setting of Never Let Go. The rough Wyoming backcountry was skillfully used to ratchet up the dangerous situations the two found themselves in. The mystery of the missing child was complex and involved much more than first meets the eye. I was never sure who to trust or the motives behind the crime(s). Trust and forgiveness were two themes that ran throughout the book and impacted more than the two main characters.I really enjoyed this fast-paced novel and am excited to see where Goddard takes the rest of this series. If you like romantic suspense, this one will be a treat.Recommended.Audience: adults.(Thankst to Revell for a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are mine alone.)

I struggled with how to rate this book (and tried not to let the fact that I'd "won" a copy in a giveaway but that copy has never arrived so I got this one out of the library, sway my rating). It starts slowly. At that point, Willow Anderson seems ready to give up on the career she'd shared with JT. She seems to feel she isn't good enough to continue on her own and get the results that he did. I'm still not entirely sure what changed her mind for long enough for her to agree to continue working on the case JT was working on when he died--the case of a baby abducted from the hospital whose biological mother is dying (and who hopes to see her child one last time). There wasn't as much of the practice or science of forensic genealogy in the book as I thought there might be. Though, had she been easy to find, other firms might have succeeded prior to this. It turns out that a possibly-custom-made pendant from Wyoming is the key to unraveling the mystery. Enter Austin McKade, Willow's one time boyfriend, who grew up in that area of Wyoming and who is determined to keep her safe. Austin has his secrets, which is why they broke up in the first place. The two do a lot of soul searching, but for much of the book, instead of telling the other person what they're thinking or feeling, they fall into the trap of thinking the other person would reject them if the truth came out and/or thinking they're not good enough for the other person. That part gets old fast as it is a common plot device in this genre. I have to say, I'm still not sure who did what and why regarding separating the baby and the mother. The main culprit wasn't a major character in the book until he was revealed, but somehow he had a group of co-conspirators who carried out most of the tactics in the book. A sociopathic personality, perhaps? The plot itself felt a bit disjointed to me with so much being revealed at the end that it was hard to keep the why behind it straight.

I had high hopes for this. The prologue was amazing and instantly caught my attention. I knew this was going to be a read that I just did not put down, and I was right. This involves murder, arson, love, illness, and more. There was so much going in within the story. There was almost a story within a story. I was not expecting anything that happened. There was never a dull moment. I was expecting this to really only follow finding the baby, but it was action packed with things happening at every turn.I actually really enjoyed the romance between Austin and Willow. I liked that they dated previously, so it was a second chance romance. I actually would have liked to see more around their relationship. The ending was a little convoluted with new characters. I was not actually a huge fan of how everything wrapped up. Normally I am dying to rush through the end to find out what happens, but with this I was just ready for it to be over. I just started to lose interest with the way the story went towards the ending.Overall, I enjoyed this though. I would have liked a different ending, but otherwise it was pretty good. I definitely would like to check out more from the author in the future.

This is the way to start a new series. This book was awesome. I loved finding out what a forensic genealogist does. This has a lot of suspense and romance. I did not want to put the book down. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

This is the first book I have read by Elizabeth Goddard and I have found another favorite romantic suspense author. Elizabeth Goddard combines fast-paced and action-filled plot with relatable and angst-filled characters. The plot has many layers and surprises that you won't be able to guess who the villain is and the motive until the very end! There are themes of forgiveness, grace, and acceptance of God's mercy infused into the main characters' development. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will not want to miss this one.Willow, our heroine, is determined, feisty, resourceful, and compassionate as a forensic genealogist. She is unfortunately blindsided when family tragedy strikes and gets involved in a case of trying to find a baby who was taken 21 years ago. Austin, her ex-boyfriend, is strong, loyal, and intelligent but lives in a world of regrets and guilt. He's now a private investigator who gets involved in Willow's case due to her grandfather's request. These two work so well together, despite their differences and tumultuous past, and I can't wait to see more of them as the series unfolds. I'm hoping the next book will be about Heath, Austin's oldest brother, since he had a large role in this particular story.I was given a copy of this book by Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Readers are in for a treat with the newest book from Elizabeth Goddard. It is a fast paced action packed story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I love a good book that has intrigue, well developed characters and a bit of romance mixed in and this book delivers it all. From the beginning you easily connect with Willow. She is a smart person who helps her grandfather run Anderson Consulting. I was fascinated by the work she does as a Forensic Genealogist. Tragedy strikes and Willow loses everything in her life including a very special person. Willow is determined to finish a job that was started before tragedy happened.Austin is a man that is straight forward and has regrets about the way he and Willow parted ways sometime ago. They have teamed up now to finish a case that has been on the books for awhile. The case itself has its own mystery that will place them in danger. A mother who's baby girl was abducted years ago is desperate to find her daughter before she dies. Willow and Austin have no idea where their investigation will take them, but be prepared for a bumpy ride as suddenly their lives are in danger. Why does someone want to stop Willow and Austin from finding out what happened to the baby? Is it possible that the baby survived and now is in danger themselves? I loved the intrigue in the book and how the readers are left guessing to the very end in this intense thriller. Elizabeth Goddard writes a story that takes you to the edge of danger with twist, romance and a mystery many years in the making. The tension throughout the book is written perfectly with questions of who can be trusted and why is this young woman who was abducted so important to many people.? The ending is exceptional and will show how secrets and deception can cause tragedy . I highly recommend this book to everyone looking for a book filled with twists, and writing at its best.I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

Title: Never Let Go (Uncommon Justice #1)Author: Elizabeth GoddardPages: 368Year: 2019Publisher: RevellMy rating: 5 out of 5 starsWillow Anderson was raised by her grandfather after she lost both her parents in an accident. He taught her about faith as well as being a forensic genealogist. Now, Willow has recently lost her grandfather. With only one case remaining open, she plans to notify the person and close the business. That is, until her life is threatened, and danger lurks in the shadows! With her grandfather already having asked Austin McKade to assist in this cold case, Willow must ask Austin to just leave and stay away. Why? Willow and Austin have a past, and with her life always in danger she wants to handle it alone even though Austin has the skills to help solve the cold case. But will either of them live to do so?These characters are trying to keep each other from breaking their heart again, and yet work together as her grandfather wanted. Throughout the novel, Elizabeth Goddard weaves various threads of the 20-year-old cold case together in such a way that putting the book down became almost impossible! There were times I thought I figured out what or who the nefarious players were, but when a twist in the plot was introduced, I started rethinking my guess! The story is not just about a cold case or an ex-flame but also about revealing how each of the past years of life experience affects the present. The novel was very enjoyable to read, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! What is also fun is waiting for the second novel to be released in Fall of 2019. Grab a copy, read and share it with family and friends so you’re ready when the next installment comes out!Note: I received a complimentary copy for an honest review of this book. The author gives us a story that begins with a terror only a new mother could even imagine, and the story goes from there with one danger to another, a person so evil that I can’t even imagine. Now I figured out early whom the culprit was, but I loved the story that was being offered and it kept my attention right to the end. Seemed like there was action behind every corner, and then we didn’t know whom to be trusted, and I wanted to be sure I was correct. In the end, we hope the evil will not prevail and real family can be reunited, but the cost is high and some may not survive.I see that there are more books to come in this series, and I am sure going to be looking for them!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
