About this audiobook

This sizzling and passionate romance follows two men whose lives are turned upside down by their intense mutual attraction.

Sam Richmond is a workaholic in danger of becoming the very man he despises—his father. Stressed and sick with worry, he’s desperate to shake off the shackles that bind him to his current path and embark on a life lived only for himself.

His friends are determined to pull him out of his funk and decide to drag him to a strip club that caters to both men and women. Sam is shocked when he develops an attraction to the show’s male headliner: Rico McIntyre. The two men end up in a backroom for a private lap dance that ends up being a game-changer for them.

Because, despite the fact that they both identify themselves as heterosexual, they decide to explore their strange attraction for one another—if only for one night. But one night quickly becomes another and then another, until a misunderstanding tears the two apart. Both men attempt to forget about the other, only for life to unexpectedly reunite them.

Can Sam and Rico embark on a relationship and come to terms with their new understandings of themselves and who they love? Or are they doomed from the start?

This was a decently good book. I will admit, as I am sure is the case with others, that I was drawn to this book by the fact that Sebastian York was narrating AND it was m/m. I could not give this book 5 stars, though. I needed more a more in depth story and def more substance to the ending. I felt that after all of the hesitation and struggles that they went through for the revelation and introductions at the ending, there should have been some sort of pause between the revelation and introduction. Then...bam. The end. Oh and after all that you still don't get what you were waiting for...Still recommend it, but I felt like there was no real ending.

I heard about this one from friends in an MM romance group on FB and then a few people in a group I joined talked about it. Everything they said about it was true. This was a great book.

Before everyone goes nuts about two straight guys who fall in love with each other being unbelievable, I don't think that's what happened. I think we all are born with the ability to love anyone. Both guys were just raised to find a wife, have kids and live your life like everyone else. This was something that Sam said happened to him. If his father found out he was into guys, I'm sure he would have been disowned in his youth. Sam was not against loving a man, he just thought that this was no what society was about.

As a side note, I knew a trans woman like 25 years ago who would say, "everyone is bisexual until proven boring." That is how I saw this story.

The book is hot and steamy but incomplete!! It just suddenly ends with so much left to be resolved. It seemed like the author had a deadline to meet so she just suddenly ends the book and left so many subplots unresolved. The main plot is only partially resolved and then all of a sudden we’re listening to the epilogue and even that doesn’t satisfy all of the questions we’ve had throughout the book.

I would give this author one more chance and listen another book as long as it was included in one of my memberships. If it also turns out to be a great story without an ending, I wouldn’t give a third chance.

I picked this story purely because Sebastian York is one of the narrators, both narrators did a great job.
    ***Spoiler Alert ****
BUT this story just stops, there’s so much left hanging, to call it disappointing is generous.
There’s equally as much to like as dislike. The characters are strong and well written, flow of the story feels natural (it’s a slow burn without ever closing the deal) but so many doors are opened and never resolved it’s frustrating in the end.
    Major Spoiler
    ???????

My biggest issue with this story is you have Rico with 2 jobs and a social life, never appears in rushed or needing time and it turns out he’s a single dad of twins. So either own great guy is a crap dad or big gaping plot hole.
Next Sam’s relationship with his dad. We hear a lot about him but he doesn’t appear nor does Sam resolve anything with the dad - professionally or personally.
Finally, they are emotionally and physically attracted to each other but unsure or uneasy as to how the physical relationship will play out.

If you’re looking for a HEA with some steam this isn’t it. It was a good story, but it left a lot unfinished. There was no actual Intercourse in this story which is why I mentioned the steam factor. It has hot parts, yes, but just foreplay. My dislike was how it felt like it left off with a cliffhanger, but there is no book continuing the series. So much left unanswered....

Loved the characters and storyline although the ending was wrapped up too neatly it didnt have the same intensity as the main story. You may as well have written and they lived happily ever after,The End.

I really enjoyed this book it was so nice to read something so honest about the difficulties that even in this day in age same sex couples still face in coming out to families and friends. It shouldn’t be an issue, but unfortunately still is.
It didn’t matter to me that they were same sex I saw it for what it was a love story with a couple facing personal problems before feeling trusting enough to commit.
I loved both characters equally. They were sweet and caring and vulnerable.
It was a great story. Well written and narrated

This novel could have been soooo much better if it had not had so many problematic depictions of women. Younger sisters are cheeky angels. Mothers are wise and doting and to be respected. But women who could have been romantic interests for the leads were mentally unstable, clingy/oblivious/delusional, or simply referred to as p***y. It was incredibly off putting.

My standards for romance aren't super high, but this was pretty bad. I listened to this on audio, which is probably the only reason I even finished it, because the narration was okay. This was just corny as hell, the conflict was completely based on miscommunication, the whole premise was completely unbelievable and the ending was so abrupt. The smut was average.
