“Ghost Train: Christmas 1957 with O. Winston Link”

"They Love the Game"

Teens from the Colorado Springs Deaf and Blind School hear their coach, in an unusual way of communicating. This Edward R. Murrow winner explains how the game is played by devoted kids.

"Over the Grave of a Killer"

A Colorado Prison executioner stands over a grave with Patty and speaks his heart years after he pulled the lever to execute a murderer. "He was unloved in life and unmourned in death."

"Death Car Memories"

Patty speaks with Nelly Connally years after she lived through sitting in the car with JFK and her husband, John. As the limousine carrying the Connallys and the Kennedys wound its way through the friendly crowd in downtown Dallas, Nellie Connally turned to President Kennedy, who was in a seat behind her, and said, "Mr. President, you can't say Dallas doesn't love you." A recipient of a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.

"Oh Brother"

Chain gang inmate James Carter's song "Po' Lazerus" inspired the opening scene of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" and won a Grammy Award. It also netted the Carter family thousands of dollars in royalties. The story was on NPR.
