About this audiobook

Alyssa Cole returns with a fun, sexy romance novella in the Reluctant Royals series!

While her boss the prince was busy wooing his betrothed, Likotsi had her own love affair after swiping right on a dating app. But her romance had ended in heartbreak, and now, back in NYC again, she’s determined to rediscover her joy—so of course she runs into the woman who broke her heart.

When Likotsi and Fabiola meet again on a stalled subway train months later, Fab asks for just one cup of tea. Likotsi, hoping to know why she was unceremoniously dumped, agrees. Tea and food soon leads to them exploring the city together, and their past, with Fab slowly revealing why she let Likotsi go, and both of them wondering if they can turn this second chance into a happily ever after.

Editor's Note

Socially conscious…

Alyssa Cole’s contemporary romances run the twin paths of delightful romance and socially conscious issues. In this f/f novella, the intersection of sexuality, race, and immigration law are explored with grace.

This was cute and sweet! These are just so reliable as far as knowing I’ll enjoy it and it’ll be an easy, light read. My library has the other novella, so I’m planning to read it soon!

I listened to the first in this series a week ago. Since then I took all of them out of the library in digital. But now I can listen on Scribd! Huzzah!!

It's a short listen, but well worth it. So happy! So gay! Love it.

??? Because this is a novella it’s more instalove-y than the previous full novels. Not into it. Also not into these characters but I think it’s because there’s no time to get to know them. ??‍♀️

Cool to see black f/f romance though.

Lovely, sweet, f/f romance. As a plus, this is a regular love letter to NYC. This novella is a high 3, but honestly the writing is not good enough for me to move to a 4. Really fun though and I thought pretty sexy.

Okay, it's been a long time since my days of devouring romance novels, but I kept seeing this book all over my social media, so when I finally saw it on the new books shelf at the library my curiosity was primed. Not counting fanfic, this was both my first f/f and my first Black romance. (Like I said, it's been a while.) Plus my first romance novella. So I cam in feeling a little disoriented. But I quite liked the way the book was structured, with each chapter alternating POVs. In the present, Likotsi has a rare weekend off and has given herself a mission to get over the woman who ghosted her months before -- only to run into her (Fab) on the train. Fabiola's POV chapters are sent months before, in the whirlwind of their first meeting and falling hard. Both sets leading to the realization of why Fab ghosted her in the first place.I really liked both characters, though I wanted more of Likotsi. I understand she also exists in some of the other Reluctant Royals stories? Though it sounds like mostly as a support character, which is a shame. I'd love another book of Likotsi and Fab figuring out how to make their complicated lives work.Fun, quick read.
