About this audiobook

My name is Rex. I am a good dog…

Rex is also seven foot tall at the shoulder, bulletproof, bristling with heavy calibre weaponry, and a deadly weapon in a dirty war. He's part of a Multiform Assault Pack operating in the lawless anarchy of Campeche, south-eastern Mexico. He has the intelligence to carry out his orders and feedback implants to reward him when he does. All he wants to be is a Good Dog, and to do that he must do exactly what Master says. What happens when Master is tried as a war criminal? What rights does the Geneva Convention grant weapons? And what happens when Rex slips his leash?

“A timely warning about the dangers of artificial intelligence and super weapons in the hands of unscrupulous powers.” GUARDIAN

“A gripping dive into bioethics and AI that I couldn't put down.” NEW SCIENTIST

Ein gutes Buch, das ein wichtiges Thema behandelt, dem wir uns zusenden müssen. Etwas zu lange am Schluss.

It's a good story. The fact that it is in parts told from the perspective of a dog/AI tackling the ethics of war makes it stand out. Sadly, this is another audiobook narrated by an ensemble-cast — with the usual problems. Why not have just William Hope do his magic?

Interesting books always make you think. this one does that. I like stories that convey this ability to make you wonder not just about what the future will bring but also about what the present already brought into the table of our day by day life.
