      I have read this book many times in the real world but spending an hour and a half- two (I went back to hear the translations several times) hours listening to the author really tell her truth in her own voice just makes it that much more amazing a must read/listen!

      Chidera Eggerue offers readers concise, honest advice - and teaches how to cultivate a strong sense of self. Her work is informed by her Igbo heritage, and proverbs (plus a modern interpretation) are scattered throughout. She breaks down the factors that keep us from being our authentic selves - whether that is through privilege, racism, emotional inavailability or people pleasing.

      Honestly, I just wanted to bookmark the whole thing. Eggerue embodies the value of choosing yourself, always - and we can, too.

      I really enjoyed this book. I love to learn about different cultures that I wouldn’t normally be exposed to and this book does that in a lovely way by using Igbo proverbs from her Nigerian mother, which are as amusing as they are deep.I found myself laughing away and really enjoyed it I will be ordering a hard copy. One thing I will say doe is I didn’t really feel part about what it means to be black really fit into this book. Although I agree with that it says It just felt a little random for me in this book.
