    The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a Gothic novella by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, released in 1886. The work is also known as , Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, or simply Jekyll & Hyde The book follows a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde.This classic novella introduced the phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" to refer to people with an unpredictably dual nature: usually very good, but sometimes shockingly evil.

    Robert Louis Stevenson

    Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh in 1850, the only son of an engineer, Thomas Stevenson. Despite a lifetime of poor health, Stevenson was a keen traveller, and his first book An Inland Voyage (1878) recounted a canoe tour of France and Belgium. In 1880, he married an American divorcee, Fanny Osbourne, and there followed Stevenson's most productive period, in which he wrote, amongst other books, Treasure Island (1883), The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Kidnapped (both 1886). In 1888, Stevenson left Britain in search of a more salubrious climate, settling in Samoa, where he died in 1894.

      I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a classic that is forever commemorated in the language, as the title has been synonymous with people have a split personality. Recommended.

      the way she said hitherto actually made me cringe, and there was the occasional stumbling over words (but that is fine, no one is perfect) and also there were sounds in the background. but other than that it was good.
